Anything running the -steamdeck client argument is not able to load the desktop save file and/or cloud save (ChimeraOS/gamescope-session, Steam Deck, Desktop Client with Deck launch arguments)
Cloud save issues
Keep game save backups
This game will eat your save file, it has happened twice and it over writes the cloud save when this happens.
Linux native fails to boot due to a graphics compatability issue. Switching to proton boots with no issues.
So far so good. Played a game online without an issue.
Steam's 6.3-6 worked right out of the box. FSR works great with Proton-6.15-GE-2!
recommend performance tweaks mentioned for Deck. This game chokes CPUs with multiple enemies on the map.
due to not being able to not hold a locked 60fps the controls willbfeel sluggish as the framerate drops. I'd lock the fps for a smoother experience.
Use dx12, lock resolution to 800x500 in game properties (cpu needs the extra power), run FSR, lock tdp to 12-13 watts (cpu will throttle in big fights), set display to 45hz for a smooth experience.
Game used to work, now "This game requires administrative priviledges"
Tried multiple Proton builds
Seems to be related to the new EA app being complete garbage. Sad to witness.
Rename/delete EAC folder
Randomly the audio (vioce, music, or effects; never all of them at the same time) was playing extremely soft, with what seemed like a per channel issue. It was hard to notice and only seemed to occur when the game had a lot going on audio wise.
Proton EAC is not supported
I was able to play this game and it stopped working. After a lot of messing around (drivers, kernels, etc), it's was the existing game files. Do the following if you have this issue:
-Manually delete the game folder -Search within the root of the steam library folder for '1097840' and delete the two folders and the appmanifest file -Close/open steam and enjoy the 120gb download
GE-Proton7-21 through -23 does not work. I initially launch the game on GE-Proton7-5 then switch to -20 for the rest of the gameplay. Might not be required.
Online multiplayer works fine, online co-op did not. Likely Teredo related, but I was unable to play co-op with a player on Windows.
Crashes in the menus
The game wouldn't launch without deleting the video folder. Everything looks fine in the menus but eventually it hard locks. Changing settings in game didn't not help with the crashing issue.
disable cpu boost with powertool plugin, set tdp to 13 watts
random flicker, rarely occured
random flicker mentioned. its like a texture smears across the screen
The issues are minor, played games with way worse issues, but I'd imagine they'll clear up with future updates.
Textures disappear when you get near them (walls, floor) allowing you to see through them.
Seems to only occure in the menus
Switching between multiplayer and campaign
The game worked fine on Proton 9/Experimental until the update released that broke the game for Nvidia users on the latest drivers. Messing with it again, I'm seeing no issues with Proton 8-5.
First boot hung for awhile but I never had an issue after that. The game runs great!
Massive performance issues, the frame rate is locking to 50 but feels like 15 fps. Cutscenes will not work without SteamDeck=1 %command%
SteamDeck=1 %command%
Cutscenes won't work without: SteamDeck=1 %command%
7900xtx, 4k, mesa-git, 100% gpu usage=50 fps
Tried multiple protons, but Proton seems to be the issue with the videos. Performance issues I'm experiencing might be related to the known issue with RX 7000 series and this game. It's borked and unplayable.
Nvidia Reflex will induce crashing when interacting with menus, consistantly. Disabling the feature there are no more stability issues on Nvidia. (note: it is on by default)
Installed and hit play. No BN launcher is comfy.
Experimental and GE proton aren't working currently. Use Proton 8-5

Game boots but crashes after character selection on the loading screen. nProtect errors are no longer present on launch.
Loading after character select
Soon...
Stuttering in game
There is a long hang when loading into a world. Linux tries to report it as a crash but eventually it resumes and loads into the world.
Black box comes up but nothing happens. Tried multiple Protons.
Launch command: d3dcompiler_47
This an issue with Steam Proton in some titles lately. The controller works with Proton-GE in other titles but GE crashes one boot with this title.
The videos don't work in game using Steam Proton.
Once in a world it's stable, 5.9-GE-8-ST has given me the best results. You can only stretch the window if you want it bigger.
Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST
Fullscreen will cause the game to crash. Delete the "preferences.cfg" file to revert back to windowed mode. Snapping the window to the taskbar will result in a black screen. When stretching the window if you get a black screen snap the window to the taskbar and pull it back down to windowed mode, the picture will come back.
Launcher boot and world load
I had to force the game to boot with Vulkan using this launch command. Get Serious Gamers! +gfxapi VLK
I've only played a few minutes of the first level, no issue to report.
The game runs great by forcing Vulkan with Launch Command +gfxapi VLK and using Proton Ver 4.11-13. 15+hrs in Linux
If running Vulkan and Proton 5.x
There is random crashing but it isn't frequent and I wouldn't consider it game-breaking. It seems to happen during longer sessions and the constant autosaves make it a non-issue IMO. Lowering the CPU graphics setting seemed to help reduce this.
Update 1.04 killed the game for me
I was able to launch the game with Launch Command +gfxapi VLK and Proton 4.11-13. Now it just boots to a black screen and crashes.
The issues at launch are non-existant. Switching APIs in game results in a crash though. I just played the game with the default DX12.
Played through the whole campaign online with a friend. No issues.
Fully playable with good performance.
Besides needing to switch to proton, this is the best way to play most of the Serious collection on Deck.
Linux native had issues detecting input, running proton solved this.
AMD_VULKAN_ICD=RADV VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr PERFTEST=gpl,sam,rt %command%
5.9-GE-8-ST GloriousEggroll
Text-based names for users and locations are broken. The same issue with the text exists on still images on the load screens. I believe this was an ultrawide issue that exists on Windows too. It's not a big issue.
AMD_VULKAN_ICD=RADV VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr,no_upload_hvv RADV_PERFTEST=gpl,sam obs-gamecapture %command%
The game has performance issues in Windows that are present on Linux (cpu bottleneck in combat). Seems particle effect related. Drop the effects setting, the experience smooths out.
Devs did not enable the Proton EAC support on their side, the .so files are missing.
As reads.
I've only tried the Experimental and GE Proton. No issues and I've been playing online in a party.
WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1 %command%
No issues
Battleye proton was already install prior to launching. Make sure you have it.
