Seems the publisher launcher can't install
I was ultimately unable to play this game with included Proton versions in Steam. Perhaps GE would work, but I couldn't get the launcher to load/install. The game reports installed, but nothing happens after about a minute, and then the play buttoin turns green again indicating the launch failed.
Until the game is not in color-neg mode, the game is much harder to play and unattractive.
On default Wine in HGL, menu would load, but rendered objects were invisible, as was all game content. Once GE-Proton9-9 was in use, rendered content appeared, but game content was in color-negative mode (blue game is all reds and browns).
Very performant even on my older GPU
Also had to do the same as Siosm suggested for the overall Linux report:
- Launch the game once, you'll get a black screen
- Force close it / it might crash
- Get into Desktop mode and navigate to your Steam library
- Select the game and choose: Manage > Browes local files
- Edit the "options.ini" file under Graphics and set: ''Driver = DirectX"
- Go back into Gaming mode and launch the game
- Initial tutorial load was <1FPS
- Waited long enough to hit ESC for menu
- Changed Quality options and click Apply (any Low-Med-High option will do)
- Return to game and no slowdown
Need to update options.ini
Steam downloads a 7MB launcher -- hangs at 3% or 4%, and never installs the game content.
Unplayable since latest update
Black screen, could hear menu ticking on mouse hover, HAD TO PRESS ALT + ENTER and all was well.
Controller: No MENU or START button mapped
smooth, butter, can caravan with friends
Controller missing Start/Menu button mapping
The game installed and ran no problem. By default, my Steam install uses GE-Proton9-26, but this version would not show the Xbox sign-in on multiple attempts. I was unable to see it on Hotfix, but on Experimental, the sign-in displayed. Once signed in, I could use any proton, so I switched back to GE, but Steam stock 9-x works, and so does Experiemental and Hotfix.
over sensitive controller inputs; unable to select in menu due to skipping over
PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command%
Taskbar was on top, had to ALT-TAB a few times to sort it, but subsequent launches are fine
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Out of the box plays great!
Nothing was needed other than installing and playing.
Installed and played without any launch options. Plays smooth as butter on old CPU w/ tiny low-profile AMD RX 6400
Easy
