Did not run as well as I feel it should have, but I was able to get it to run at 60 fps
Ran fine after lowering settings. I know I do not have the most recent or up to date hardware but it still performed noticeably worse than on windows. Lowering the settings allowed it to run at 60 fps with very infrequent dips when loading. Did not play too far into the game but I did beat the first two worlds with no problems outside of the performance issues
Ran fine on both the default 9.0-4 and GE, but I chose GE because the default one did not display the background of the main menu correctly, and it bothered me, it had no effect on gameplay however.
-NoLauncher -NoStartupMovies
Game crashed when I alt-tabbed but it only happened once.
Ran fine, but it took FOREVER processing vulkan shaders. Online worked fine and I was able to play with my friends on Windows with no issue. Native works fine if you want to play solo, but use experimental if you want to play online. launcher wasn't working for me so I had to disable it in the launch options, but that was the only issue.
Sometimes takes a few tries to get it to connect to the online features.
Ran fine, only minor issues with connecting to the online servies.
worked ootb
worked, no cloud saves so I had to restart but thats not a problem at all
Works perfectly fine
worked fine, only bug I encountered involved the ui scaling being slightly bigger than it should be. It was easily fixed by changing the resolution settings, I don't even think it was a linux problem, but I figured I'd mention it
Game runs fine outside of a few graphical issues and controller problems.
frequent flickering in the shadows or all objects; occured for a few seconds at a time then stopped for several minutes.
I had to use steam input to get either of my xbox controllers to work, which is a problem because it breaks one of my controllers. I had to use my older controller, because for some reason my newer one is unable to be mapped correctly when steam input is enabled. I usually fix this by turning off steam input but, in this game, that prevents any controller from being used.
Despite the aformentioned issues the game still worked for me, and although I had to use an older controller I had a blast in the few hours I played.
Sometimes fog that is very far off in the distance flickers, but it is barely visible, especially if you're not looking for it.
Ran as it did on windows when set to proton experimental. I did not try with the default or GE, but from other reports, it seems that it would work fine on those as well.
Worked well, just make sure you don't download the enhanced edition unless your computer can handle ray-tracing
Changing resolution to 1440p froze my entire computer for a few minutes. Never happen againt, but I figured it was worth mentioning.
As the title mentioned, the only real issue outside of the resolution bug was fact that the enhanced edtion requires ray tracing. The game still ran for me at 1440p with ray tracing, but it wasn't pretty, so I'd recommend sticking the the base edtion if you're also on an amd card.
Worked, for about an hour of playtime at a time. poor framerate after an hour and flickering without gamescope.
VKD3D_CONFIG=disable_uav_compression gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -r 120 -f -- %command%
Noticible artifacting during combat
Could not use controller at all.
After about an hour of play in a given session the frame rate would drop to sub 30 and stay that way until a restart.
I was unable to change any of the settings in the menu, all that would happen is a rapid clicking sound that would persist until I left the settings.
connecting was difficult, but I am unsure if that is beta-related of linux-related. Once I joined some friends it worked fine.
Was able to play online and complete a few hunts despite all the negatives I've listed. I am pretty sure several of the performance issues I encountered could be solved by changing settings around, notably FSR 3, but I am unable to do anything in the settings menu. Not sure what causes this or how to even begin to fix it but it severely dampened the otherwise fun experience. Also, without gamescope I had horrible flickering between the last used application and the game, I also couldn't change the setting while it was doing this. Had to add VKD3D_CONFIG=disable_uav_compression, due to FSR being on by default and, for me, unable to be turned off, just to launch the game. Did not try proton experimental bleeding edge, but there is a chance that might fix several of the problems.
taskset -c 0-7 steam steam://rungameid/8930
only a few crashes, honestly less than I experienced on windows, but still worth noting
Had to do two things to get it running, both were found on this game's proton page. The first was to enable the legacy launcher using the beta code "ineedlegacyaccess" so I could launch it in dx11. The second was the launch option "taskset -c 0-7 steam steam://rungameid/8930" which was needed to actually get the game to launch. Once I did these two thing the game ran well at 1440p with only two crashes over several dozen hours of play, which is almost not worth mentioning. Was able to get several workshop mods to run with no issues, in some cases better than they ran on windows, although I havent tried anything like the vox populi mod yet.
gamemoderun %command%
Slight lag when loading levels
Ran perfectly
Runs fine on Native and Proton, but there was no audio for me on native.
On native, the audio stoped working for me, Proton worked fine for me.
Worked on both native and proton
DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT" %command%
had to manually install vcrun2022 with protontricks
ran into 2 major issues, the first was that the game wouldn't even launch without using protontricks to install cvrun2022 (the prefix for Tekken 8 is 1778820). The second issue is that the game was using my integrated graphics card so I had ot force it to use the dedicated card. Outside of that the game ran as well as I expected it to and the online play worked for me. Was able to play ranked and connect to the fight lounge no problem.
Opens but won't actually change your wallpaper
It will run, open, and let you browse and install any wallpaper you'd like; but it stops short of actually changing the wallpaper background. That's why I'm saying that it doesn't start play even though it techincally does. I still use it to find cool wallpapers, but I just take the files that it downloads and use Smart Video Wallpaper Reborn on KDE to actually change my wallpaper. I guess this method depends on your desktop enviroment having a similar tool, but it's better than nothing.
would occasionally freeze when alt-tabbing, fixed itself quickly though.
Needed to switch to the temporary_launcher_workaround in the beta section in steam to actually launch the game. Also had to rename MicrosoftEdgeWebview2Setup.exe to MicrosoftEdgeWebview2Setup.exe.bak. After that it ran as expected, but online would not work unless I was the host, not much of an issue to me but still might be annoying to some.
