+fps_max Unlimited
Heavy lag with v-sync on when jumping out of the ship, but i turned it off and it was fixed.
I tried both Proton GE and Experimental, and both worked great after in-game video setting changes. I had V-Sync on when i played multi-player, it was horrible, but once turned off everything was smooth as butter. I lowered a bunch of video settings recommended by videos and web pages to increase FPS. And finally, i didn't tried many command line arguments, only 1 to be exactly so far which was +fps_max (FPS Value). I tried 2 values only, 0 and Unliminted, where it says (FPS Value); 0 hard froze my PC after exiting the game, had to completely reset the computer, but with Unlimited, no freezes at all. Don't know if its my PC or a general issue, but Unliminted worked for me to increase my fps beyond my monitor's cap.
I changed, replaced, copied and past all the files mentioned in other posts to make the anti-cheat work.
If you get a message saying Anti-Cheat failed to initialized, then you did not clicked on the boxes for EAC and BattleEye runtime in the Settings, Wine Extensiones, Global settings.
Haven't tried Proton Experimental or its latest version, but I am sure they work also. Game runs smooth, didn't crash or freeze either. I am loving the gameplay so far, really addictive, didn't thought i would enjoy it this much. Plus, i did do some research on the best Fallout game of the series, this one is at the top :D
Game will run good if you have a good PC set up and can play on high settings, just don't use the menu to make changes.
Frozen Menu
Crashes when you enter the game menu
Frozen menu
Game default graphics are all on high settings, when i tried to change them to medium the menu froze. I performed this action 2 times after restarting the game, once in the initial setup and in game, both times the menu froze.
Works great
Initial installation config was defaulted to Steam Linux Runtime, which didn't worked for me (crashed), but once I changed the compatibility to Proton Experimental, it loaded and ran with no issues what so ever.
Stuck on Loading Screen
I tried proton ecperimental, 7 and then 6, but the game booted up to the menu, i could change the settings, but when i press start game, it gets stuck in the loading screen.
Playing on low to medium graphics because of my APU, and was getting 50 to 80 FPS, even higher in some parts of the game.
I tried all the proton layers or versions, didn't open the game on any. I was really hoping to play this game, since it was one of the first games i ever played back in my day.
Achivements seems to be busted, it keeps giving me the same achivement over and over, but there is an option to turn off achivements in the setings.
The game might need to be restarted after hitting play for the first time, it didn't load initially for me, only after a 2nd try it loaded - but that might be for me only, could be different for others and work right out the box.
Also, there are 3 more Ninja Stealth games to be played if you beat this 1st one, did not know this initially :)
Works great. I installed it, played for a bit to see if it worked, and it does. Didn't had any issues at all.
IIdk if its my settings, but it was really laggy for me once i was in a game. I used the low, medium and high settings, all the same for me.
The overlay didn't appear after pressing shift+tab. Also, i did intall the Easy Anti Cheat runtime from the Tools drop down menu, since i red it in another report - and since BattleEye is next to it, i installed that too for good measure.
And i installed the game without checking the compatability box for the different proton versions, game ran without that, so i guess the game runs without the proton layers i suppose.
Works out of the box - Mods folder!
When you right click the game and search for the sims 4 folder path to install mods, that's not the right path. The actual mods folder for the game is in, wait for it...
home/yourname/.var/app/.comvalve.../.local/share/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1222670/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/documents/electronicsarts/the Sims4/mod
Thought i would share that because i spent half a day loolking for this darn mods folder, so i can install some mods in the game.
You're welcome :D
Graphics and sounds are great, and the movement is really smooth. This game will be very cool and scary when it launches.
No saving option as of yet.
