Stuttering might not be a super obvious issue, but it does take away significantly from the overall experience.
Framerate was only a bit below what Windows offers, but animation smoothness was not great. Animation was having minor stuttering throughout. Still quite playable, but far from perfect.
Ran fine without issues. Completed the game. Took a couple of minutes to boot on first run though
Mouse and Keyboard support was fine, but Xbox Elite controller had very strange behaviour. Buttons wouldn't always respond. Would stop working when transitioning from foot to vehicle. Might have to keep pushing stuff for 5 seconds for everything to remap correctly and then you'd be find for a while, until something stops working randomly again. Very odd.
I've had some bad performance issues at first, so ended up completing most of the game on Windows, but after getting the most recent NVidia driver, the game really feels smooth and stable now. I've adjusted the culling setting as suggested by other reviews, but did not tinker with commandlines.
Suffering some crashes at random points. Might be acceptable for many other games, but it really breaks the experience on this one.
Had multiple crashed over the course of several hours. With no save points, this really ruins entire runs. And obviously the better the run you're having, the more likely it is to be ruined by eventual crash.
Ok overall. A few graphic artefacts here and there and although FPS is 250+, frame pacing is a bit off and not as smooth as windows install
Some minor, but noticeable graphic glitches. Weird texture warping in the hair. A few textures flickering in the distance. Another character's long hair getting rooted in the air and stretched across the screen. Nothing to break gameplay, but maybe a bit distracting.
Pretty great experience overall
Police lieutenant had some issues with hair texture in a few missions. Not a big issue.
Should be OK. Performance is not great, But 1080p/60 should be easy to achieve.
Getting about half the performance of the Windows installation on the same machine.
It's playable, but you really want to push high FPS to get a good experience on this one.
Game runs at just under 30 fps at settings which Windows can push to over 165.
Pretty good overall. A few text boxes may be harder to read compared to Windows.
Some fonts scale poorly when not playing at native resolution
The frame pacing and stutter might be a pretty frustrating experience.
The game refuses to minimise, although this issue is also there on Windows. Bad port problems.
There's a general bad port issue leading to stutterl, especially when transitioning areas or starting player moves. While this is a know issue on Windows as well, the Windows issue is largely address by switching Shadow Buffer from 4X to 2X. On Linux, the issue is generally much more pronounced and does not go away by changing the same game setting. Frame pacing on proton is generally pretty bad here. While pretty annoying, the game is playable.
Launch menu shows up, but upon picking full screen, the game becomes unresponsive
Runs just fine now, after I switched from Mint to Pop! OS
It's alright overall. You can probably get used a dropped frame here or there.
Game runs at stable 144fps on my 144hz screen, but there are frame pacing issues compared to a windows installation. The experience is a bit choppy.
Proton-6.8-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Proton-6.8-GE-2
Considerably slower than the windows experience at identical settings. Maybe 20-30% FPS lost. Objects drawing in are also more noticeable.
It's running fine, so long as you don't have an urge to multitask with other programs.
Could not return to the game after tabbing out of full screen. And playing in windowed mode had frame pacing issues.
Settings menu launches, but upon selecting full screen, the game becomes unresponsive
No luck launching
Tried D3D 11 setting and multiple versions of compatibility tool, but no luck here.
Proton-6.8-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Needed to run with Glorious Eggroll version of proton: Proton-6.8-GE-2
Runs pretty well overall. Experiencing the same issue with units visually teleporting during movement, but it does not affect gameplay.
Units teleport during movement. Haven't experienced this nearly as much on Windows, thought it's not entirely Linux exclusive. Does not affect gameplay though, so it's not critical.
