Works perfect OOTB
I played mostly on native, then finished the game on Linux. Load times seems to be considerably faster on Linux.

Works out of the box

used TDP, ~5 watts 60 FPS
Very good game, underrated franchise
It was a pleasant experience without any issues to beat the game from the start till end on a Steam Deck. Just saw someone wrote that game has issues on Deck - I hadn't faced any.
Works well with keyboard or controller
Finished game without issues
At the previous report I said the intro video crashes the game. Turns out that there was some files stuck even verifying couldn't handle so after uninstalling, removing all the files and reinstalling the game now works out of the box
I can get to the menu and start the game but as soon as the intro video loads the game closes. This also happens on movie viewer. I tried multiple protons including latest GE but always the same.
Runs almost flawlessly
In a few hours of play have experienced one crash that has not repeated.
Gameplay has been great, flows smoothly. Experienced one isolated crash that has not recurred.
I just installed it and it works
Occasional missing text might detract from the story, but otherwise a great game
Sprites flash out occasionally, and pieces of text are sometimes missing
Completed the game with absolutely no issues
Works flawlessly
Shantae is a good series of a games for a classic Metroidvania platformer.
If you run a Laptop with a Dedicated GPU add DRI_PRIME=1 to launch options or else it defaults to your onboard gpu.
Without PROTON_USE_WINED3D flag, I was experiencing unpredictable but frequent crashes to desktop, usually during cinematics/loading screens (seemed to be a page fault in d3d11.dll according to the logs). With the flag enabled, game runs perfectly.
No other customizations
Works out of the box
Mouse cursor wasn't hidden but entering and closing steam overlay fixed this.
Just install and play! Hooray Shantae!
After install, game worked perfectly with no bugs; even my x360 pad was detected and worked right away.
Regular tearing (no v-sync?), very infrequent flickering character sprites (only in dialogs, not in gameplay)
apart from some minor graphical glitches it installs and runs very much perfectly.
character sprites flicker a bit (although barely noticeable) and for whatever reason the lowercase letter "v" won't display in text boxes.
