This game perfectly work on Steam Deck. In this game you will only need to use the mouse, so you do not need to change the controls in any way. I think you will find it convenient to play with a trackpad

Limit TDP 5W - 60 fps stable and long battery life! =)
Native Linux-version great working out-of-the-box
Without further ado, the game runs great on the Steam Deck (and therefore Linux) using Proton
Before installing the game, in properties, in compatibility tab select Steam Linux Runtime to install native Linux-version of the game. For some reason, the Steam store no longer displays support for the game on Linux, although in fact it exist, install and works
I recommend playing the native version without using Proton. It works much better then Windows-version and supports gamepad control perfectly. If you wish, you can limit the TDP to 5W, since the game does not consume many resources, and extra battery life is not unnecessary
On 5w perfect working!
Through Proton 7.0 the game works fine, but for some reason the native version for Linux freezes at the beginning of the game
Enable virtual desktop in protontricks
For some reason, when playing in desktop mode the game freezes after minimizing, making in impossible to expand and continue playing (this is not only true for Steam Deck). To solve this problem, you need enable virtual desktop through protontricks in the game prefix settings, after which the problem disappears. In gamemode this problem does not exist
Aparat from what is dispacribed above, otherwise there are absolutely no problem
Works great with any version of Proton (both stock and GE). Gamepad works out of the box so there is no need to change controls (unless you want to)
When playing through OpenMW, you can safely limit the TDP to 3 watts and you will have a stable 60 fps. Moreover, the game's battery life will increase
I strongly recommend installing Luxtorpeda and specifying it in the compatibility settings to download OpenMW, which is native to Linux. With it, the game will work perfectly, and the use of Proton will not be required. Moreover, with OpenMW you will have gamepad support (currently partial)
I limited the TDP to 6W in handheld mode at 1280x800 and limited the FPS to 45 - I got almost 4 hours of continuous gaming on battery! In docked mode at a resolution of 1920x1080, you can limit FPS to 60 and play without TDP limitation
The game runs well through Proton. By the way, I play Skyrim with a huge number of installed modifications, and even with them there are no problems (except for in-game bugs. Well, this is Skyrim! =) )
Sometimes the game's FPS drops. This doesn't happen all the time. The game itself is not very well optimized
Overall, the Linux version of the game runs significantly better on the Steam Deck than the Windows version via Proton. In the native version there is no FPS limit to 30, and the FPS itself is higher. However, it is rare, but it happens that FPS can drop - this is especially noticeable in massive battles
Since the game is very demanding on hardware, you can only play it on the Steam Deck if you have a strong desire and patience, but personall
The optimization is just terrible. Even in portable mode it doesn’t play very well, and I won’t say anything about playing at 1080p on an external monitor - it’s a slideshow instead of a game!
The game has native support for gamepads, and the game itself runs at a stable 60 fps. You can limit TDP to 6W to slightly increase gam time on battery, and even then you will get 60 fps
Limit TDP to 8W in handheld mode, 12W in docked mode at 1080p will be sufficient
At a resolution of 1280800 in portable mode, the subtitle text is quite small. In docked mode, when playing at a higher resolution (for example 19201080), the text becomes readable
Even though the game is networked and uses an anti-cheat, it runs very well on the Steam Deck (and therefore Linux PC) via Proton!
Unlike End Times - Vermintide, in Vermintide 2, for some reason, even when playing on an external FullHD monitor, the text is not very readable in some places. At least for me. However, this is a problem with the game, not Proton or Steam Deck
It's not critical, but sometimes microfreezes occur in the game. The FPS itself is even higher than in End Times - Vermintide
To start playing Vermintide 2, you no longer need to set "temponary_launcher_workaround" in the game properties. However, keep in mind that neither the stock nor the modified Proton comes with Edge WebView2 installed. To bypass its installation, go to the game directory (Steam/steamapps/common/Warhammer Vermintide 2), go to the "launcher" directory, find the file "MicrosoftEdgeWebview2Setup.exe" in it and rename it to "MicrosoftEdgeWebview2Setup.exe.bak". After this, the game will not try to install it, and the game itself will start and work
