Works well out of the box

make sure SDL_VIDEODRIVER
is unset as it will always crash otherwise
some minor shadow glitches that are generally hard to notice
I am using Hyprland so it is important to unset env = SDL_VIDEODRIVER,wayland
or env = SDL_VIDEODRIVER,x11
as it will always crash

No Poton version is working, neither is the opengl option (for each version)
I have tried clearing the download cache and shader cache for each version.
Aside from all the proton versions I have tried I have also tried GE-Proton9-13
Launch with OpenGL

Graphic bugs dont make it impossible to play but it gets annoying over time, especially with the bosses
Fun game but graphic bugs make it weird

I haven't noticed any problems, it works smoothly.
Works great out of the box

Shadows are sometimes buggy

Choose OpenGL and enjoy
Crashes unless you choose the OpenGL option, then runs great
Plays great now

Game runs with no issues and it really feels perfect for the deck. There's some slight framerate drops here and there, and it's hard to pinpoint what exactly may be triggering them, but they're hardly noticeable and don't impact the gameplay at all.

Shader effects in chapter 7 resulted in some graphical issues. One time it resulted in two screens appearing, DS style. It will re-occur every so often until the chapter is over.
At the same point, it once managed to open MangoHud. It could not get turned off, even after closing or trying a different game. A hard OS restart fixed this. (I don't believe there is a hotkey to turn MangoHud on, so I don't fully know / how this could have happened?)
Play it
OpenGL
Nothing to add; the game runs seamlessly!
It mostly runs at 60 FPS, but sometimes it drops in some areas for no apparent reason.
Sometimes the screen flickers, minor but annoying.
Use the OpenGL mode.
Game runs in OpenGL mode.
It can't get past 2-3 seconds into the game. Proton experimental, using OpenGL

Works excellent
If you are using the GOG version, you have to use the flag --gfx gl
to launch the game in openGL mode. Text is blurry on 2k screens (known issue with game, not proton). Easy fix is to run the game windowed, and use gnome magnifier under accessibility with 2x scaling - it will zoom the window to fullscreen and works great as long as you use a controller.
Runs very well with OpenGL (w/ Steam Controller in BPM) on Proton Experimental
At least in Big Picture Mode, You may need to try to launch (via OpenGL) the game again to focus on it instead of BPM.
custom command: prime-run %command%
If Steam complains that it can't find EastWard.exe
, go to game's property -> compatibility, and choose a specific Proton version instead of 'default'.
And be sure to select 'OpenGL mode' when launching the game, otherwise you will only get a black screen (although audio works).

Had to enable with OpenGL otherwise the game will show you nothing but a blank screen.

After starting this game in OpenGL mode, it ran fine. I'm about 2.5 hours into the game so far and haven't encountered any in-game issues.
Has to be run on OpenGL
Runs great when you choose to run with OpenGL.
Occasionally shadows would be drawn on surfaces where they should not be.

runs flawlessly
run in opengl

6.15-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
At startup I got to choose "Run" or "Run in OpenGL mode", at first I tried normal run as it was pre-selected, but then I was just greeted with an unending black screen. So I turned it off, then tried "Run in OpenGL mode" and it ran, everything seems to be working perfectly. I use GE proton out of habit, it probably runs with normal proton too. Will return when I've played more!
