Disable Vsync in settings to remove mouse input lag.
Using experimental will cause the game to crash in the first loading menu.

Nothing to add other than this game runs flawlessly with no problmes. Settings are maxed out at 1440p on a 34in monitor and I have a constant 144 FPS. Highly recommend.

Works perfectly so far
Played a couple of sessions with two friends, no issues
In my previous report I assumed it didn't work correctly with newer Proton versions but this was a general issue caused by enabling "Force full composition pipeline" in nvidia-settings, and not a Proton or game issue. With standard system settings there is no problem at all.

No noticeable issues in sessions with two other players
With Proton 8 it freezes during loading for me, advancing some frames while in the background or on different workspace, but freezes again upon switching back to it

Launches and shows as being played on steam, but doesn't show beyond a simple process
doesn't show beyond a little process called "SpaceHulkGame-W" and intermittently shows as uploading a few 100 bytes of data.

Works perfectly out of the box
Played with a friend on Windows
Cutscene work with default Proton in the Enhanced Edition, no need for Proton-GE.
As of Dec. 7, 2022 after the latest stable release update, Space Hulk Deathwing works out of the box.
Some text in the UI require toggling the magnifier to read comfortably.
Prior to the last stable release update, I had to force compatibility to GE-Proton 7-41.

Works with GE-Proton7-31.
Needs GE-Proton7-24 to launch, otherwise it's tinkerless.
These steps require GE-Proton7-10 to be installed.
- Switch to Desktop mode
- Download mf-install from https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install/archive/refs/heads/master.zip and unzip it
- Open a shell in the directory containing mf-install
- Run the following commands
export WINEPREFIX="/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/816090/pfx"
export PROTON="/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/compatibilitytools.d/GE-Proton7-10/"
./mf-install.sh -proton
- Return to Gaming mode
This game does not work out of the box.
- After launch it stays stuck on a black screen.
- Running it with a GE-Proton does not change the outcome. Protontricks install of mf package fails with default wineprefix. Installing Media Foundation manually for the default Proton yields a warbled display.
- Getting it to work requires using a GE-Proton AND installing Media Foundation manually.
After that the game runs properly, with a decent framerate (35-50fps) on High graphics presets. It can be played either in controller mode or with kb+m emulation.

game works as expected, but video cutscenes are not playing. Shame, since in 40k, that is a big part of the experience
very slight choppiness every now and then
video cutscenes not playing (seems like video codec unavailable)
Introductory video and audio were out of sync, and teh video didn't play while the audio played while doing the first mission.
The introductory video for a new campaign showed the broadcast interruption screen, then the audio played, and continued to play all while I was starting the first mission. I did not wish to modify the game at all, so this video failed for me. There are reports of others with the video working after adding some media codecs.
Using Flatpak Steam and Proton 6.5-GE-3. The beginning video did not play, audio was off sync and continued to play during first minutes of first mission. Then everything else seemed to work as expected.

Only thing that didn't work was the intro video when starting the game. This requires Media Foundation DLLs. Can be installed as follows:
export SHD=~/.steam/steamapps/compatdata/816090/
rm -rf $SHD/*
git clone https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install.git $SHD/mf-install
git clone https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-installcab.git $SHD/mf-installcab
WINEPREFIX="$SHD/pfx" WINEARCH=win64 wine wineboot
WINEPREFIX="$SHD/pfx" $SHD/mf-install/mf-install.sh
WINEPREFIX="$SHD/pfx" $SHD/mf-installcab/install-mf-64.sh
Although the game seemed to play fine, it still is 40K and we all play these games for the story as well as the action.
I haven't played too far into the main story but the initial cutscene audio played while the video did not.
Works decently enough
If you can put up with the occasional stutters, it's an enjoyable game
The game would come out of full screen between missions and when alt-tabbing and then behave as if it were but would only show the top left quarter. I had to play in windowed mode. Sometimes I could fix it but it would break it self again shortly after so just stuck with windowed mode.
Long stutters occasionally. Not sure if that's how the game runs under windows.
Used GameMode with it for better performance: https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode

Game starts and is playable with controller but looking with mouse doesn't work
Everything works except aiming with the mouse. Every function bound to a button works. I have tried different Proton versions, reset the game configuration, different Proton configurations via Lutris GUI, reinstalled the game. That's the only game I have/had this strange problem.

Unable to enter fullscreen, Alt+enter did not work. Game keeps opening on the incorrect monitor. you can move the window to the proper monitor but is prone to crashing the game. Only way to view in fullscreen is with virtual desktop enabled.
I play ultrawide screen 3440x1440, game starts always windowed, I just ALT+ENT and it's fixed. Usually I have to do it even playing.
Install Feral gamemode https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode and use "gamemoderun %command%" for better performance.
Works out of the box, runs smoothly.
Sometimes mission briefings had no audio, but this issue's been present on Windows as well.
Great game, runs perfectly and performance was on par with what I've seen previously on Windows.

Fatal Error!
Running ubuntu, installed the game using steam for linux, opened in Lutris using run steam for linux games option which works for Planetbase for me, but executes a 'fatal error' in a tiny box when displaying the very first loading banner. Big sad ='(

XFCE pannel persisted after alt-tabing out and pack in game
minor shuddering on initial major enemy spawn

Tested multiplayer in a game of 4, played about a hour and no issues detected. No tweaking was needed too.

Works perfectly, Performance seems great also.

Works perfectly, performance seems great also.

Had to restart the game the first time, runs perfectly afterwards

Started it, and it runs.

Requires a small tweak to play on systems with multiple monitors. The game tends to use the last display available and refuses to run in the primary display unless windowed. Resolve this using winecfg (WINEPREFIX=~/.steam/steamapps/compatdata/816090/pfx winecfg) and select the Graphics tab. Check "Emulate a virtual desktop" and set your desired resolution. Click OK, and the game now works perfectly on the primary display.

works great, did a multiplayer match (did try 3.16-7, has less performance)

Played through the tutorial. Tested character customization in-game, also works.

Shader caching is a bit annoying, but other than that it runs fine.

"DX11 feature level 10.0 is required to run the engine." splash on launch.

Game is running smoothly out of the box. Played tutorial and one mission and no issue detected.
