Runs ootb with no issues! Perfect input latency on oled makes parrying a real pleasure. Made a whole 100% playthrough with all areas and bosses including DLC. No Issues at all!

Do need to manually invoke the keyboard for the character creator.

putting stick clicks on pedals; put run toggle and camera reset turbo on pedals for convenience

Other than naming your character requiring the on screen keyboard, it's basically perfect and runs great!
8w TDP

Works flawlessly out of the box, can be tinkered with to get extra battery life at no performance cost.
In-game, change Jump from B to LS (pressing the left stick). In Steam's settings, make one of the back buttons (I use R4) Sprint/Roll, so that you can look around while sprinting.
Dropped the TDP Limit to 8 Watts; gets you 3-3.5 hours of playtime on an LCD model.
This is obvious, but putting the deck in sleep mode kicks you out of online when you wake it up. If you're planning on putting the deck to sleep consistently during a play session, I'd recommend going offline from the menu before playing.

Putting the Steam Deck to sleep while running causes it to kick you back to the main menu (after saving) if you were online. This is annoying but happens on the Switch version too.

Set TDP to 8. Solid performance.
Text can be a bit difficult to read.

Runs great besides the volume button issue. Need to manually invoke the keyboard for writing your name with steam+x
using volume buttons disables all input - about to recover it using back buttons bound to volume control (doesn't control volume but does give you back your controls). there's a community layout with this set up

Not significant to gameplay

Related to frame stuttering
Game will randomly drop from 60 fps down to like 15 with no warning, pretty much unplayable. Same thing happened on my desktop even after tinkering will all video settings in game and through monitor display settings/ Nvidia control panel
Frame stutters

The game crashed whenever I died. I thought it was skill issue.
The problem was fixed after I launched the game in Desktop mode.

Works OOTB. no microstutter or unresponsiveness from using the Volume buttons that other reports mention, so those issues must've been fixed
TDP @ 6W; when docked to a 1080p display, I have to remove the TDP limit.
possibly the biggest issue was typing your new character name at the very beginning, it was a little clunky but manageable. Otherwise, it's flawless.

This game runs perfect on Deck, and also in Manjaro. Very minor adjustments necessary. Changing the refresh rate to 59fps solves stutter.
Controllers stop responding on touchscreen input or when changing volume with the volume keys. Custom layout helped with the touchscreen issues.
60fps cap makes game microstutter, change it to 59 fps and stutter is gone.
Invasions, unfortunately, appear to work as intended without issue...

Steam Deck game controller mapping
R5 and L5 set to volume up and volume down
The volume keys disable the controls
Sometimes the framerate would lower despite the FPS counter remaining the same
The game often launched in offline mode and I often didn't bother setting it back to online
If you use the volume keys while playing Dark Souls Remastered then often times the controls completely disable and you need to exit the game to get them working again.
A fix I found is to set two of your spare mappings to volume up and volume down. Both of these mappings won't actually control the volume but pressing them both enables the controls when they get disabled.
I'm unsure how to share it here but I put together a control set called "Steam Deck controls fix" with this applied to R5 and L5 alongside the touch screen being disabled. R4 and L4 are also set to B to make for smoother running while turning the camera.

Set TDP to 10W
Slight stuttering/frame pacing issues randomly at 60fps. Set refresh rate to 59hz fixes it and have a smooth experience.

Had to manually recreate My Documents folder under prefix Users/steamuser folder as it was being created as a broken empty file, preventing the game from starting with an "Checking save data" failing after a few minutes.
Game initially stuck due broken savegame path (see notes).
Valve borked prefix creation with a broken My Documents folder causing the game fails to validate its saved data.

stopted recognising controller when voulume changed

Controller would stop working if the volume buttons were used. Had to restart
Avoid using the volume buttons on top of the deck through out playing, unlike god of war you can not regain your controller support by opening and closing the steam overlay. Besides that, works perfectly
Changing the volume would sometimes cause the controls to become unresponsive.
The framerate is tied to the game speed, so you cannot lower the refresh rate from 60 to get more battery life. Unless you wanna play in slow motion.
Bound kick to L4 and jump attack to R4
I notice some slight choppiness/stutter very infreqently. I think it might be a frame passing issue since the FPS count remains locked at 60.
Played Co-Op with a host and 2 other summoned players. Took out Gaping Dragon without any issues.
I had to change to GE-Proton7-41 to avoid some intermittent crashing. No stability issues after the change.

Entire System Crash along with it resetting the entire deck
I have not tried a different proton version yet but if it persists across different proton versions for me I will post the same report
A little difficult to read at times, unable to make larger but can be made smaller
when you launch on steam deck you see the steam logo (like its loading the game) but stays like this for 2-3 minutes without loading the game and then returns to the library (like a crash) cant reach the game main menu :C
