Works almost flawlessly
When loading into a playthrough, after picking the character, the resolution will often be on 1080p max. I have an ultriwide monitor of (3440x1440) and I have to go into settings and change it every time. For some reason it just doesn't save that setting.
Everything works well aside from that ultrawide bug.

PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%
apart from the occasional audio crackling (fixed with the PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC trick), which I seem to get in almost all Proton games on my PC, works fine out of the box. multiplayer works as well.

'Native build' isn't actually native, and is just an unmaintained wine prefix.
Always use proton over the "native build", the supposedly native build isn't actually native at all but is the Windows version with WINE(If you don't believe me you can inspect the binary it's a win32 binary), problem is it's an out of date prefix that is unstable and not updated, in addition to that it's just slower than proton due to using WineD3D instead of DXVK or Gallium9. If that wasn't issue enough the prepacked wine instance shipped as native by the developers won't launch on most base installs due to it not coming with all of the required libraries.

Great game with functional multiplayer
Had a single CTD after a save. The save worked and it never happened after that, so might as well be a fluke
Hosted a campaign with two friends without a hitch.
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
works perfectly after setting up proton
When on the menu that ask to attack an ennemy (before entering battle), it will flash a lot and the menu will feel like it's openned 100 times and stacked with a few milimeter spacing (like an accordion).
When starting in fullscreen (tested only on my 1440p monitor), the image will glitch like at the bottom left of the screen in 1080p and the remaining is black.
At each start of a turn, the CPU will use almost 100% of power.
All the bug I had are on the native version of the game. I had no visual glitches nor high CPU usage using proton. So if you run into visual glitches, try the proton version.
The only issue I had using proton is for some reason the game was stuck in multiplayer for other player (like the turn wouldn't end untill the workspace where the game is, is focused back) which doesn't occur on the native version. The proton version I tested in the past was 8.12.
no issues running or playing multiplayer

worked just fine.
I've played For the King for years, on Linux I've played windowed and full screen and on about every device I own. Never had an issue once..
I almost always play online with friends who are on Windows and I've never had any issues caused by being on Linux.

A wonderful Couch/Shared Screen coop experience to play with friends or family and some controllers
40fps limit, 11 Watts Power Limit and FSR
Hard to read some of the text at times, but not a deal breaker
The Couch/Shared Screen Coop works great on the steam deck and on a 4k tv. Used 2 xbox controllers
If you want a Coop game that you can play when friends come over with couch play or shared screen this is awesome! We used 2 xbox controllers, a 4k tv and FSR on (upscalled resolution to 1440p) and the experience was fantastic. Killing bad guys together, leveling up, getting loot, the Steam Deck goes super good with this game, along with a tv and some controllers!
mangohud gamemoderun ENABLE_VKBASALT=1 %command%
On Proton version higher than 4.11-13 you can't use multiplayer (Online Co-Op). Native port has awful performance
Works with older proton, won't open with newest proton at the time of this. Had to add mouse trackpad which is helpful but not required.
Wouldn't open.

Il casual gamer avrà un ottima esperienza
effortless, you can use the touchscreen and all. wonderfully layed out, legible and fun to play
change dright touchpad to mouse instead of right jopystick and set click to left click.
capped wattage to 8w for the cpu. By default the graphics set itself to 480p dream quality, dropped it down to high and used fsr (sharpness 3), dosnt respect steams vsync, so set it in game. Looks fantastic and 2 hours and 20m, at 50%. without it est was 2hrs at 70% 60fps and all.
it showed keyboard and mouse buttons. instead of controller prompts, besides that, works great outta the box. i changed the config after that for convience.
play wiith it for better battery life, runs swimmingly at full res and all. 800p max setting. gorgeous and hungry
Worked out of the box
the reason i used Proton to start the game was because running it in native set my CPU clocks at base values
for some reason my CPU slows down from 4GHz to base clock after the game loads cpupower says that boost state becomes unsupported while playing

My game works both Native and via Proton. There is a slight graphical bug in the native version that does not impact the game through proton

Running this game in Proton gets my wireless xbox 360 controllers working.
