After adding launch options and using Proton Experimental the game runs fine, Ubi Connect launched and I was able to log in, haven't tested Multiplayer yet though

It is hard to invite a friend through the steam overlay, once you click to invite you can't close it, you need to spam SHIFT+TAB and ESC and hope it closes. This solution also autostarts the game so beware
