Lowered graphic settings to improve battery life.

Switch to Proton 7, use Vulkan render in game, instantly a smooth expierence, hitting 60FPS with Medium settings
Default Proton choice (Version 9) doesn't perform well
Crash with Proton 9.

Somewhat small UI text
Default configuration out of the box is poor, resulting in fluctuations from 60 all the way down to 25 FPS. This was odd as the title was previously reported to run very well on the steam deck.
Switching the renderer to Vulcan and the proton version to 7.0-6 solved this completely and allows the game to run on ultra at a consistent 60 frames per second.
You can run the Vulcan renderer and not switch to an older proton version and you'll still see significantly improved performance but you WILL get isolated FPS drops below 60 if you're not running 7.0-6.
Going into the advanced graphic settings within the game and switching the rendering to Vulcan and setting proton to 7.0-6 results in a nearly locked 60 FPS for the duration of the playthrough.

I've set fps limit to 50 and TDP limit at 7 watts
Subtitles and other UI elements could be slightly bigger
I play with medium graphics settings and Vulkan renderer. The game runs at stable framerate with no issues. It can run fine in 60 fps, but I play in lower framerate to save battery.

маленький текст меню и в игре
играть можно 2 часика

Set to 11 watts and seemed fine but the occasional stutter. Full power has no issues.
Works perfectly at 60 fps on high.

40hz cap

Out of the box with no changes the game ran ok on medium graphic settings, but switching the renderer to Vulkan made performance much better and solid 60FPS on ultra preset uwu
Unplayable. I turned off the "controller" in the options and now it's impossible to turn on
Changed right pad to act as mouse. For the rest it works as you'd expect.
Text is a bit too small by codex entries.
It crashes randomly sometimes. It happened twice to me in 8 hours of gameplay so it's not often, but it happens. It's not something too harsh as per autosave I usually only lost 3-5 mins of gameplay.
No tinkering needed. Just install and play. You may want to try different community control settings until you find one you like. It crashes sometimes but it's not often and only a couple mins lost.

Doom runs absolutely wonderfully on my Deck. It has maintained a consistent 60fps on the default settings.
I have had it crash once but since it's run fabulously.
While the game runs great on the deck when playing handheld, if you intend to play docked you might want to adjust your settings accordingly.
Changet the renderer from opengl 4.5 to vulkan
Runs ok with opengl with some pefomance problems. On vulkan crashes straight back to steam deck menu.
some text can be somewhat small in menus like the codex entries, but still readable and not essential to gameplay
really enjoyable experience, I've probably encountered three or four crashes total - once when falling off the map and the other times were on campaign start up. no issues with save files though, worked fine on re-launch. in rooms with large amounts of enemies and environmental elements, I have encountered slight frame rate drops but nothing that affected gameplay.
sometimes a little small but its fine so long as you don't have as many eye problems as me x3
weird shadowy lines far away

The game loads the offical layout. Shows the Steam Deck loading splash screen. Then gets caught up on a black screen. The deck its self is running fine, but the PO freezes completly as if the deck was not responding at all.
Great game, plays well docked to a 50 inch TV with a PS4 controller, however requires some tinkering
Resolution was way off, and it was blurry (on a 50 inch TV docked)
Tinkering
Gamepad
- The default PS4 gamepad had intense gyro on, so I had to swap to the top PS4 community layout, which worked perfectly.
Display (50 inch TV docked)
I had to:
- set the games resolution to Native from the SD home screen
- Update the resolution in the game to be 1080p as it had borders before hand.
- Update aspect ratio to 16:9
Getting close to 60 FPS solid enough.
Frame limit 40
Minor graphical problems with "Ambient Occlusion". Disable it in game options.
Crashed 2 or 3 times, played for around 12 hours
Played through the whole game. I switched to the vulkan rendered, and that seemed to perform better.
Changed the right joystick to "Flick Stick"
Set in-game graphics options to "Low" and limited TDP to ~8 watts
A couple of crashes happened in the beginning of the game, but as I progressed I noticed they didn't happen as much.
limited TDP to 8
framerate issues in last 2 chapters
the last 2 chapters of the game is where the framerate starts to wheeze (not unplayable, just not ideal, 40hz mode might help, but your milage may vary). Otherwise you can expect a fairly consistent 60fps at 800p at even high settings on Vulkan (Though I hear OpenGL may actually bring better results)
The unexpected freezes are annoying and are pretty common. Probably happens to me 2-3 times per hour of play
The game comes to a hault at random times. I have to invoke the Steam menu for the game to unfreeze in the background in order to resume
Runs pretty fantastic just gotta use OpenGl in the video settings - can do 90fps on low settings 800p
Ran the game at native res - 40 fps cap - make sure to use OPENGL instead of VULKAN since it runs better that way and a mix of low to med settings - pulls around 10w
if you run this with vulkan you will get alot of lag spikes and slowdowns but opengl there was no lagging

Change advanced option from OpenGL to Vulkan
Two fights in the 'I am Vega' chapter bring the framrate down, otherwise it mostly stays at 60fps
Launching without changing OpenGL to Vulkan results in a wildly inconsistent framerate.

I changed OpenGL to Vulkan in-game options ADVANCED to get a better performance 60 fps stable. No issues so far with proton 7.0-3
Limited SOC power and maximum FPS
Be sure to change the gyro and trackpad sensitivity to your own style, since you aren't one of those weirdos who use thumsticks for aim.
Worked pretty well. Not sure it's a good fit compared to using keyboard/mouse, but it played just fine for me. Did most of the first level
Crashes in Arcade Mode. Seemingly fixed them by using Proton Experimental and disabling Steam Overlay.
Game runs fine but crashes too often, at least in arcade mode. As mentioned, disabling the Steam Overlay appears to fix this. I also used Proton Experimental but I don't think this matters.
Started crashing ovassionally right before you go to hell. Seems to happen more frequently when doing runes.
