Great OOTB

Loaded up the game and was greeted with a Direct3D error, tried various methods to get around it none worked.
I tried several versions of Proton GE-Proton and experimental, could not get this game to run.
I have seen previous footage of the game working and enquired about it, folowed the guys steps but no luck. Conclusion the game is currently borked on steam deck. Needs looking into, have no idea where to report it other than here. Sadly this is borked on deck does not deserve a platinum rating on deck at all.

When playing the game in Exclusive Fullscreen I experienced a complete system freeze, setting the game on Windowed Fullscreen, and enabling VSync fixed it.
Other than the Fullsreen problem which happns is several games for me, Sniper Elite 4 works out of the box, on all Ultra settings without any slowdowns.
Elite performance. Click and play, it's that easy.
Great game, runs smooth, no issues anywhere.
Works great out of the box. You can use "dgvoodoo" if you want Mangohud overlay and better performance
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d8=n" gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 MANGOHUD=1 MANGOHUD_CONFIG=fps_only,fps_limit=60,font_size=16 %command%
I added "dgvoodoo" to convert the game from D3D8 to something i can use with DXVK. This gives you more fps.
Game works fine out of the box but limits fps to your refresh rate. Adding "dgvoodoo" removes fps cap and increases fps further, but it's optional, game works great as it is even without it.
Installs and Runs perfectly with Proton 4.11-13, and this game wouldn't run at all on Native Windows for me.
Although it is an old game, the atmosphere is good. If you can get over the old looking graphics, it's a great sniper game.
Installs and plays fine at first. But after a while my character starts falling through the world at random points in the scenery. Makes the game frustrating and unplayable. Enjoyed what I played but stopped because of this frustrating bug. Other's here don't seem to have this problem.
it works perfectly
Crashes at main menu

Game works out of the box on Proton with WineD3D (DX8). I copied manually dgVoodoo2, run protontricks GAMEID winecfg, set d3d8 to native and then the game worked on Vulkan with DXVK even when testing it with the new ACO compiler.

Game works on Proton out of the box.
