Runs perfectly with no thinkering needed

Runs perfectly with Proton. No crashes, bugs, glitches and works straight out of the box
The game was perfect. Straight out of the box it just worked. You can get a almost perfect locked 60 FPS even with the highest settings, you'll still get the occasional FPS dip in ship combat (with stacking smoke effects dripping dropping the FPS a bit)
I played for about 50 hours on a full completionist playthrough and never once had a crash or found any bugs, it all just works perfectly.
Definitely recommend this one, it's a great looking good that's perfect for the deck!

Game is locked to 62 FPS max and cannot be tweaked to run at a higher framerate (60hz lock recommended).

The game update fixed the old Uplay launcher not launching the game, the game now uses Ubisoft Connect.
I had to set the MTU to 1452 in the deck's wifi settings in Desktop Mode in order to get past the Ubisoft Connect "Ubisoft service unavailable, Please try again later" page. If you don't have this error in Ubisoft Connect the game should just boot up now.
If you already have your Ubisoft account connected to your Steam account just restart the game when you are prompted to sign in to Ubisoft, it will auto sign you in on next launch.

Only works if you already have ubisoft connect installed and running, and in steam.
I used protontricks in desktop mode, to get the steam id of the AC:Rogue, goto the compdata folder copy the number of the steam id, and delete the folder, link current installed ubisoft connect install folder in compdata with the title of the steam ID of rogue. Your new link should replace the old rogue folder with the link to the current ubisoft.
Without linking the new ubisoft connect, you will be met with a very old version of uplay that doesnt update. Also navigating ubisoft connect is a pain.
The game will never launch without this fix for now.

Installing any other ubisoft game, that will properly update to ubisoft connect instead of the old uplay (such as assassin's creed black flag), and then copying the install from one wine prefix to another will allow you to launch assassin's creed: rogue.
The game is utterly unplayable unless already registered with your ubisoft connect, so unless you copy over the ubisoft connect install, it WILL NOT PLAY.
installed ubisoft connect. uplay was too outdated to update.
Works fine, with some windowing issues that's probably attributed to poorly designed Ubisoft software
Window switching does not work to lose the game window's focus. Workspace switching and xkill does work. Game window cannot be resized once it starts. Make sure tiling is off, otherwise you'll get a borked window size that can't be fixed with WM/compositor fullscreening
This might just be the game, but certain menus don't seem to load when clicked on with the mouse. Use the keyboard or controller instead to navigate
You may need to start the game a couple or so times before it works initially
Had to login to ubisoft connect once, after that, the launcher saved my credentials and just launched the game.
Works well, ubisoft connect complicate things if you have a complex password.
Tried every single proton version, reinstalling, running offline and online but the game just can't run and Uplay says it "can't get online" even though it just accepted 2fa code. 🗑️/10
Just wait for the loading of Uplay at the background even if it says some error. Then restart steam and it will work.
at first loading of the uplay, it displays error but still loading at the back. I let the download finish and restart steam and the bug is gone.
Everything ran perfectly out of the box. I was worried because I had issues with AC Black Flag, but everything is running perfectly.

Runs well out of the box with Pop!_OS 20.10, Nvidia 460.39 drivers on GTX 1650 Super. Used Proton Experimental.
You might find the UPlay dialog box on the upper right corner annoying when you start the game for the first time on your system. Just disable all UPlay interface in the UPlay settings (shift+F2) then restart the game. That should fix it.

-> I started with Proton 5.9-GE-8-ST ... Uplay installs, updates then an error occurs -> Changed for Proton 5-11-GE-1-MF ... Uplay launches, sign in then I stopped and reboot -> Launched another time with Proton 5-11-GE-1-MF, everything seems to work except you're stuck on a black screen -> Got back to Proton 5.9-GE-8-ST and everything works fine
UPlay Overlay Information in the top right will not dissappear. But its not a big deal.
The UPlay/ Ubisoft Connect Launcher needs a few restarts until Rogue finaly starts.

Runs perfectly after disabling Uplay overlay
By default, the Uplay in-game overlay is enabled. This can cause annoying Uplay graphics to get stuck on the screen, and can also cause issues with windowing (e.g., alt-tab, etc). If the Uplay overlay is disabled, then the game works absolutely perfectly.
Works fine
Tab and escape do not work after alt-tab. Can be fixed by alt-f4 once.
First time you launch it it has to update the uplay launcher to whatever's the newest, launching again will work
ultrawide was wonky af, but that's a game issue with windows as well, there's a fix available https://www.wsgf.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28011&p=156443
Uplay launcher fails to restart itself after autoupdate. Uplay overlay doesn't close and causes graphical issues if opened.
Some slight FPS drops
Game works pretty well. High settings and 55 to 60FPS, some occasional drops here and there but nothing significant.
Just some FPS drops here and there, nothing significant.
Game works with this version of proton and .conf file. https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom and adding dxvk.conf in $HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Assassin's Creed Rogue/ with option d3d11.maxFeatureLevel=10_1

Still black freezes on black screen with 4.11-4 . Works with https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/4.15-GE-4 and adding dxvk.conf in $HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Assassin's Creed Rogue/ with option d3d11.maxFeatureLevel = 10_1

Runs great but you need extra wine staging patch. I use the custom Proton https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/4.14-GE-2. To use it extract to $HOME/.steam/root/compatibilitytools.d/ then restart steam. Go to game properties check "force use specifi steam play compatibility tool" and select Proton-4.14-GE-2.

still dont working black screen and nothing to do

Game hangs on a black screen at start up.

Still hangs on a black screen

Still hangs on black screen on 4.2-3. Lutris is still required.

Tried disabling Uplay overlay but just a black screen when launching the game

Black Screen and then hangs with Proton 3.16-7

i try many things, but i only believe is a problem with black screen

can't get past uplay login.
