Beste Protonversion für das Spiel => Proton Experimental
Tried it on both Vulkan and DirectX. Vulkan required no tinkering. For DirectX, just switch to Proton Experimental

Works great!
This game plays great, I have no issues with this game at all. I personally use the Vulkan launcher because I have noticed vastly better performance for an identical graphical look but default UE5 works fine too.

Latest patches may have borked. Used protontricks to intall c++ runtime and tried proton 7,8,exp and GE. Along with dx10,11 and vulkan.
Installed c++ as needed
Game either hangs or crashes without any window showing.

After recent updates the game launches and runs perfectly with older proton version.

Won't launch
Installs properly, but it won't run no matter what proton version I use.

When I first started the game, some in-game messages were not displayed properly. But things work find now.

Default install reported missing .exe. Switched to Proton Experimental and setup was able to complete, and the game ran fine.

Some of the text is not properly scaled for the screen resolution, and people keep reporting that it seems to fail from update to update.
Some of the text wasn't properly scaled in the tutorial.
Its seems to be a hit or miss depending on what has updated...
I usually have no trouble playing Surroundead. But when thereis an update to the game or to Proton, I am not sure which is the problem, The game no longer launches. Or is says its launched but I have no game on my screen. Switching between Proton Versions does not help. The funny thing is, after about a week from what ever updated, The game will suddenly work. Its a real mess sometimes and a hit or miss.

Game "installs" a file that is 7.1 MB in size and has no "extension" to it. simply shows the Steam error window on launch
Unable to obtain support for this game, appears it is dead for Linux.

Can't even install the game
If I click on install, the game is installed within a second, but doesn't work. "Missing .exe" if I try to play it. Deinstallation and reinstall doesn't work. Steam Support doesn't work:
Hallo,

Hallo,
Best Regards, Christina
There must be a problem between the server and the steam client, or something like this. Every other game works without problems - even the installation.
I have tried every single proton version and native, it didnt work... for some reason... Native = missing exe, Proton = just didnt open...

Lists Native as possible install, installs Windows version.
Not opposed to running in Proton, but not when they list Native and I bought it for Native support.
Lags a little bit when physics interact (Zombies pushing vehicles lowers FPS)
Quite an enjoyable Early Access game; still in it's infancy and uses purchased assets (Visuals only as far as I can tell) .

Runs Well Via Proton 7.0-3 : No Issues Unique to Linux
There are some early-access based bugs but they have affected all OSes per discussion in the official Discord. None of them seem Linux-specific.
I have a number of different Synty Assets + Unreal Engine games and have found playing on Proton works slightly better than without using a compatibility setting for online play. This is probably unnecessary but runs perfectly.
Graphics run impressively smooth and do not require NVidia full composite pipelining options to fix screen tearing. No tinkering or adjustment required.
