Great
Thrustmaster T300 RS works perfectly here. There is a problem that the system does not detect the steering wheel inputs, so the screen goes into dim mode after a while. I have to disable this option in power options so that I don't have to type or move the mouse for the system to know that I'm still using the computer. Although the system does not detect it, the game detects all the steering wheel buttons and pedals normally.
Small, but readable.
I love this game os desktop with steering wheel. I'm surprised that I enjoyed so much to play on steam deck.
Single player runs well on my Steam Deck with room for higher quality visuals and/or performance if you're willing to tradeoff battery life

don't use alt+tab or similar things when using fullscreen. when you switch back to the game, it show only black screen with no audio and no response to keyboard or controller, then you have to kill the game process
check video opinions - advanced. if "Texture Quality" was set to high or above, game will very likely to crash after race finish. change it to medium or below

On NVIDIA, you can disable the AMD driver launch error by adding dxvk.conf in the game's install dir, and adding dxgi.nvapiHack = False to it

I know game works with official proton but only single player, I always want play multiplayer and when I finally get proton GE which is easy to instal on steam deck, I tried force latest proton GE that I have 8.1 I think, to see if multiplayer will works, and YES it works.

Runs right out of the box as of this date. 60fps easy, runs great, plays great. Default controls are perfect. Definitely worth it if you have EA Play.

Perfomance boost with DXVK_ASYNC=1, FSR 1080p to 1440p high preset I get ~70fps. G29 wheel works out of the box, only pedals need to be reassigned.
T300RS GT Clutch and Accelerator doesn't respond at all, the GRID games all react the same way. It's full gas all the way, and I can't change to the pedals, because it doesn't register. Breaks work though, and other games have no problem.

Requires far too much tinkering to be worth the trouble. You get about five hours' gameplay for your trouble.

Error about driver version interrupted launching the game, causing the game to think it's focused when it's not. Workaround is to not touch it, wait for the EA App to take focus back, then close the error dialog using Steam's windowing menu.

Once installed an running it's pretty much flawless. No crashes, no performance issues (that couldn't be fixed by settings tweaks). Is fun!

No online stuff works. Just you v.s. the AI until that one is fixed.
Game is unstable to the point of being unplayable. Work for a dream for a few races but stopped working entirely after about an hour.

The DXVK_ASYNC=1 launch option seems to help the game run more smoothly. I have not had any crashes or other issues so far and have been able to complete a few of the story mode events.
Updated to SteamOS Beta branch to resolve crashing issues.

I don't think it's possible to play online because the EA login prompt wasn't working for me, but I did not spend much time trying.

ALWAYS crashes after a race, no idea what's causing it. Tried using different versions of Proton, Proton GE, upgraded graphics drivers, etc. Runs great otherwise.
