without any modification, the game runs pretty well. but with mangohud's fps limit to 30, game will very likely freeze when moving from racing session to next screen.
Don't work with proton expermental, go with proton-8
After recent update (seems about 400MB or so), Proton-Experiental don't work anymore. plz switch to Proton-8, this default one should works fine. I haven't test with other vertion of proton. Also, nvidia driver 545.xx should fix the crash problem lasted for monthes.
With new nvidia 545.xx version of drivers, nvidia users should works out of the box. At least I never met any crash after updated to 545.xx, it happens a lot after driver version 525.xx.
don't use alt+tab or similar things when using fullscreen. when you switch back to the game, it show only black screen with no audio and no response to keyboard or controller, then you have to kill the game process
check video opinions - advanced. if "Texture Quality" was set to high or above, game will very likely to crash after race finish. change it to medium or below
seems they fixed ea account login now...
You can get into the game with uplay version, but 1 imin after launch, it crashes everytime.
This version of wine (lutris-ge-proton8-7) support auto prime render offload (if I'm right?)
When the game start up and enter game world for about 1 minute, it crashes. Everytime.
The 1-min-crash make it impossible to play multiplayer. Noted before.
When RR is not in steam, I tried lutris with uplay before, the game even don't start. I'm sure the battleye files is not updated during this period, so the battleye-linux-support is probably done from server side. I'm still not sure why it crash every 1 minute, waiting for fixes.
plz use newset wine (exclude wine-lol) in lutris
Replace your lutuis's battleye-runtime (e.g./home/user/.local/share/lutris/runtime/battleye_runtime/
) with steam's proton-battleye-runtime (e.g./home/user/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Proton BattlEye Runtime/
). I suggest to use a soft link.
After replaced battleye-runtime then you can play online. the offline "zen mode" is not affected.
With lutris's battleye-runtime the game will crash but not with the steam one, just replace it. For steam version, install "proron battleye runtime" then it's fine.
Ray Tracing/RTXGI Global Illumination in graphic settings will cause the game freeze and crash, set it to Static should fix it
some language will cause EAC throw out an error and not loading, due to missing fonts provided by proton. check "EAC LANGUAGE ISSUE" chapter at: https://github.com/polluxau/the-finals-linux-troubleshoot-guide/
