Runs absolutley normal, even while using an Xbox One controller. I did not try multiplayer.

Switching to Proton Experimental fixes the texture bug that affects the ground and cars. Performance also seems to be very comparable to Windows.
No problems, just installed via Steam and click Play.

Can barely get past 20 at lowest settings with all cars on screen. Spikes to 60 when FOV is car-free.
Don't let the status fool you. This game is very much "Unsupported" on the Deck.
As others report texture artifacts are gone with proton experimental, game runs flawlessly here. Only tinker I did is enforce experimental.

CachyOS strikes once again. Use CTT's Linutil to install game dependencies, select "proton-cachyos" in Steam and just enjoy.
Flagged as "Tinker" Report, but it's not. CachyOS has it's own proton preset, that's not listed. This Distro just runs this game without any issue so far. 0 Glitches or anything like this. Smooth as butter.

Works out of box. For Radeon gpus use Proton Experimental bleeding-edge to fix textures.

It's fixed in Proton Experimental:bleeding-edge.

Still heavy checkering artifacts with AMD graphics
Someone wrote that the checkering artifacts were gone after the recent update, but I got the game today and it still appears to be there. Cursory testing with disabling/turning down settings did not appear to fix the issue either. Whether it's a graphics engine bug, Proton bug, or driver bug, or a combination of things I do not know.
If you're on similar hardware/software to me, I'd recommend holding off on getting it for now, unless you like me want the current discounted price and trust it'll get better soon enough.

After March 28, 2025 update, graphic artifacts have dissapeared.
After the first game update in 28/03/2025, I notice some minor dropframes compared with when the title was launched - but at the same time, the blocky-ground artifact has been solved.
This is a product still in early access, but the developer is actively fixing issues. Worth buying and supporting if you enjoined the first game.

Ever shifting checkboard pattern appears on ground textures.

The floor textures bug out with a checkerboard type pattern.
I used different versions of Proton and GE version. I also tried adjusting graphical settings and none made any difference to the bugged floor textures, such as disabling shadows, SSAO and reflections. On my PC, there is no issue like this. That is an Nvidia GPU vs the Steam deck AMD. Maybe it's something to do with that.

"Does it have graphical issues? Yes. Does it run buttery smooth with gameplay that still rocks? Hell yes."
The infamous blocky-ground artifact---apparently affecting Radeon cards. I tested the game on a GTX 1650 Mobile, and no artifacts were visible.
I plan to come back once the graphical issues are resolved and update this report. Right now, it absolutely delivers for fans of the first game, and it's really promising... But admittedly, it's an Early Access product, both in terms of optimization (this blocky-ground glitch would be unacceptable in a finished product) and content (only four cars and a handful of tracks).

A constantly shifting checkerboard pattern appears on ground
Performance is great.

Even if the framerate was 140FPS it felt choppy
It works on 8.0.5 with no texture loss, but its choppy even on high framerate on ultra/maxed out 4k.
It is not choppy on proton experimental but texture loss
Problème de texture sur le sol. J'ai baissé la qualité graphique a low afin d'avoir 30fps constant

A black checkboard pattern appears on ground textures
Changing versions of Proton (experimental, hotfix, GE) or game settings did not resolve the texture issues.

Ground texture is alive, with a lot of black squares.
When you enter settings or car editing... Game tebds to freeze or crash.

Ground has artifacting, for me it doesnt make it unplayable. Ive found similar artifacting on FH4 in linux. I have a suspicion its due to FSR but no evidence for that.
A bit stuttery until it fully loads in, 40fps cap, allow tearing on
Takes a bit of finnesse with the settings to get it to run acceptably. I dont think it's possible to turn off fsr 3. Didn't try that with the lowest settings possible, but i doubt it would run well, and wouldn't look as good for sure

Crashed with stock proton, no crashing with proton experimental

Works well out of the box with GE-Proton9-24

checkerboard pattern on ground texture is very distracting
checkerboard pattern on ground
could not eliminate checkerboard pattern via any in-game graphics settings or using different proton versions.

Launched game no issues, and aside from some maybe fsr related artifacts, and choppy frames on high settings in foliage dense maps
Had to lower my graphics settings off ultra on more demanding maps but aside from that, runs out of the box

Frames are a tad lower than windows
You dont need to tinker really at least on Intel Arc GPUs. that said you could probably try some settings which could boost performance

gamemoderun %command%
black artifacts on ground and some cars
only 9 fps in races compared to 90 in windows

Was lots of fun to play, even at this stage!
Some shader issues with the groud was the only issue I saw.
Other than the shader issues on the ground, the game ran quite smoothly on Ultra graphics settings on a 5120x1440 screen. The game is still in early access, so hopefully the graphical issues get resolved. Not sure if the graphical issues also show up on Windows.

Their new "ground mapping" feature looks ugly on the Deck. Like a blanketed shadow grid stretching all across the map. Not to mention it loads in slowly.
Low Preset, with FSR 3, can barely run above 30, with significant varied drops all around. Trying to set anything higher either freezes, or crashes the game.
Play the first one instead until further notice, or get a better device to play this game. It's a reminder that the Steam Deck is becoming obsolete for contemporary titles that are aiming more and more for that photorealistic standard.

Early access is running great
Floor texture shadow seems to glitch
Sure, this is a very early access build but the fact that it runs without any game breaking issue and that the framerate is good, call me impressed. I could play a couple of races with my gamepad, no problem.

Shadows load in large blocks that shift as you drive around
The shadow blocks are distracting as you drive, but given that there's nothing to keep you playing the game for more than half an hour (as of launch day) you wont have to put up with it for long.

Game runs perfectly (on my system).
Upon first boot, it does run an "install DirectX" script. Oddly enough, it requires my Dualsense controller to be wired to prompt the Playstation glyphs. Very insignificant issue though. While the game runs perfectly, it does miss many key features of a full game. Hence "early access". Very excited for the full release thooooo :3

Noticable aliasing on hard edges like roof of a car while smoke/dust cloud up front. Noticable shimmering when looking at the terrain upfront through the car's front mesh (Windshield) during driving.
Paint Design customization sub-menus didn't work with Xbox controller, had to use mouse and keyboard to navigate and select options. (Probably a bug in the game itself)
I had to lower Quality settings to Medium preset to have a smooth experinece, High preset is cinematic and I didn't bother to try Ultra.

Was able to install and run, didn't test multiplayer. Other than the artefacts with the track textures I didn't notice anything off.
Track textures appear and disappear. Still playable but looks buggy.
Ground texture on the track had black artifacts covering a majority of the racing surface.
mangohud %command%
Had to change Terrain Quality to Normal otherwise the Parallax option was causing small artifacts on the ground.
