Works out of the box. Very good performance.
You have to be patient the first time you launch it since it will install redistributables and it will show 2 or 3 black popup. Just be patient first time and everything will be alright.
MANGOHUD=1 gamemoderun %command% MAXFPS 0
I could load a 100% completetion saved game found on the Internet.
When playing with graphical settings, sometimes the textures would not load properly
Even though the game is said to support my controller natively, I had to keep Steam Input enabled to make it work.
You really have to force the use of a Steam Play compatibility tool like the description says since the native build didn't work for me.
Works perfect once setup.
Works out of the box... if you are lucky enough to enjoy a good framerate / latency. If not, be ready to tinker with in-game settings
The game is notoriously hard to configure for some people in order to have good performance. You have to play with all the settings and basically find the right combination that works for you.
Works wonder but be ready to tinker with the graphical settings. It is the nature of game, though, not the fault of Proton or whatever.
The game is hard to properly run even on Windows, but it seems that AMD FidelityFX is going to benifit greatly from a MESA patch in version 24.3
Works and lags out of the box
Like other people are reporting, for the audio to work you have to change the "device" and you can do that either with an option or manually in the settings.
Ok. So, here is the thing. Even on Windows people are having a hard time. What worked for me was to modify SeriousSam4.ini file - search for "Performance and shutter fix" thread in Steam discussions.
But even after doing that, I couldn't use anything but "low CPU" or the game would exibit an erratic and low framerate from time to time. The problem is, with high/ultra GPU settings, it looked like sh**.
I mitigated this problem by activating AMD FidelityFx "CAS", among other settings targeting a 60 locked FPS. I don't recommend DX12 at all, it would crash the game from time to time. I would not recommend Vulkan either.
Anyway, be prepared to tinker a lot. There are a lot of settings to play with.
If you force use of DX12, then tinkering with the graphical settings will crash the game randomly
Would connect to my uPlay account and sync with my PS5 progression automatically. Works awesome.
Sometimes the sound would cut for a few seconds before it comes back
Maybe it is the way the game is supposed to be, but the FPS is all over the place, from high 120 to low 30. I finally settled on enabling v-sync and setting basically everything to LOW, especially shadow and car details (and I disabled both AA settings). Now I'm getting pretty much locked 60FPS experience with low input lag and pretty good graphics.
Early access is running great
Floor texture shadow seems to glitch
Sure, this is a very early access build but the fact that it runs without any game breaking issue and that the framerate is good, call me impressed. I could play a couple of races with my gamepad, no problem.
