--skip-launcher
I haven't tried running with the launcher/account, but everything else works great. I've run into a couple of bugs and crashes once in a while but nothing too bad, probably the same on Windows.
occasional skipping or out of order frames (likely NVIDIA driver issue)
Switch to beta legacy1.19.1_unity_ver2019.4.28f1 - pre unity upgrade build
No menu on Heroic or Lutris launcher
-nostartupmovies -nosplash
I tried Heroic launcher but got a black screen, tried various configurations and proton/wine versions. Then tried Lutris and got a crash with seemingly no relelvant error before the menu.
Someone mentioned that ext4 partitions may not work, but I'm not up for creating a btrfs partition to test with currently. I wouldn't recommend getting it outside of Steam currently.
Demo would not install
Demo version says to install as a normal user instead of an admin and exits.
VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 %command% -dx12 --intro-skip --launcher-skip -skipStartscreen
Occasional artifacts with ray tracing
Path tracing hard crashes the game and makes it difficult to recover
Testing out path tracing cause my game to crash and no longer start. I had to recover by changing the config file in [SteamLibrary]/steamapps/compatdata/1091500/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/CD Projekt Red/Cyberpunk 2077/UserSettings.json
Even trying Path Tracing in photo mode caused stability and graphical issues.

Occasional artifacts with ray tracing
Ray Tracing crashes the game since the latest patch
I thought it was just an issue with the new path tracing, but it looks like ray tracing is entirely broken with the latest update (1.62). The game crashes when trying to load with ray tracing.
If you can't start the game to turn off ray tracing, the options file is located at: [SteamLibrary]/steamapps/compatdata/1091500/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/CD Projekt Red/Cyberpunk 2077/UserSettings.json
With mismatched monitors, the game had graphical issues on start. I had to switch proton versions and avoid changing windows, and then navigate the menus with only part of the screen visible to change to windowed mode, after which it started working okay.
Since the game has anti-cheat, I haven't tried multiplayer
Audio crackles and cuts out for every version of proton I tried. I can't be sure if there was audio desync but I tried vsync to improve the audio and it seemed to help some
Using GE proton, the settings screen messes up the aspect ratio when in full screen
frame rates limited to about 45fps during play and in menus
I tested proton 8.0-3 (default), proton experimental, proton 7.0-6, and proton GE 8.16. All the proton versions except GE seemed to act the same: they had audio issues, frame rate issues, and no background videos. GE brings back the background videos but is pretty much the same otherwise.
I also tested with DXVK_ASYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=0 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=0 %command% but saw no noticable difference so I removed it.
gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamescope -f -h 1440 -W 3440 -H 1440 -- mangohud %command%
FPS around 70-100 when I believe it should be capable of well over 144
After using gamescope and gamemode (optionally also mangohud but that's just to confirm fps), the performance is a lot better, but not up to par with how I remember it before/on Windows. For anyone like me who hasn't installed gamescope or gamemode yet, it may be a simple 'apt install' to get it going.
However, I had to update my nvidia drivers to 535 to get gamescope running well, and even then while testing and running I had frequent crashes of both the game and my computer, so keep that in mind, ymmv.
Out of the box, the game runs around 45 fps with some audio glitching and has no background videos.
GE Proton fixes the background videos.
Now working after resetting configuration
widescreen caused ocasional stretching and black bars popping in and out
After resetting to default configuration (proton version and launch options), verifying files, and restarting my computer with the latest updates, the game now runs very well
Not playable
Doesn't detect any screens so it opens up in a small window. The controls are weird, you have to use space to click, but hover seems okay. Still though, the game seems to be unplayable because the background doesn't appear to be interactable.
Totally broken, had to restart my computer both times I tried
Game brings up the unity window full screen and then flickers and forces itself into the foreground with a flickering/invisible window. With the flickering I was able to see, it didn't appear to be accepting any input to get past the initial screen.
Desktop was completely unusable even on the second monitor. I couldn't switch apps or bring up the restart/shutdown menu.
Best way I found to exit is changing TTY with ctrl+alt+f3 to access the terminal and reboot
Broken on wayland, but able to exit and switch apps
(My previous report was for X11, this is for wayland, using KDE plasma 5.27.8)
Game brings up the unity window full screen and then has a constant flicker. I was able to see the game despite the flickering, but it didn't seem to accept any input at least with the mouse.
I was able to exit the app easily and use the rest of my desktop now that I tried it on wayland.
Launcher occasionally crashes on action, initial launcher update wouldn't download until changing DNS
Occational disconnections and some days where I get very frequently disconnected. Unclear of the cause or whether this would happen on Windows.
I suspect my issue is wifi because I don't see many other people with connection issues. I recommend using a wired connection if you're able to.
No notable issues out of the box
trying to adjust window size with desktop window manager controls is a bit buggy
Switch to DirectX12 (and make game fullscreen)
frequent stuttering in new areas
Out of the box, the game runs with annoying frequent stuttering. I switched to fullscreen and DirectX12 as suggested in the community discussions and it seems to have worked, the game is working great now with textures popping in (like most games) instead of freezing the game/stuttering.
Doesn't start :(
Tested with Proton 6.3-7, Proton Experimental (10/23/21 latest), "Proton Glorious EggRoll" Proton-6.19-GE-2, and protola_6.3. For all of them, LIV fails to display anything and exists shortly after clicking the launch button.
for var in $(printenv | cut -d= -f1); do export $var=$(echo ${!var} | rev | cut -c1-1000 | rev); done ; %command%
Launch command taken from https://www.protondb.com/app/1237970#R7KoHBKZsf . From what I can tell it should trim environment variables as expected.
Working well day one
initially mouse click didn't work, resolved after switching windows a bit
Very slow in inventory/menu, maybe a little slow overall but my cpu is a little old now and i was able to get ~110 fps still at 1080p medium and ~60 fps at 1440p high
For setting up multiplayer, I got an error the first few tries, but it resolved after restarting and trying repeatedly about 8-10 times. I haven't tried playing with others yet.
I initially had to run with Protola or Proton Great Eggroll edition, but after installing/using those, the default Proton versions work well. I'm guessing the missing dll was shared or moved somehow, or maybe the issue was fixed recently.
There is still an issue with game crashes to desktop approx. every 10-20 minutes, but the game autosaves every 5 minutes and is still receiving frequent stability updates.
There was a vsync-related issue with low framerate in the game menu, but I don't think I've had a problem with it recently.
There was an issue with game saving failing, but it seems to have been fixed in a recent patch.
I first installed and tried both Proton Glorious Eggroll and Protola, but then proton started working, possibly because they shared dlls or due to a game update, not sure
The game often has some graphical issues such as not displaying minimap elements or lighting issues like not displaying fire. It seems to be random each launch and you can save and relaunch if it's an issue.
Out of the box, the game crashes frequently. This seems to be an issue with Windows as well though I'm not sure to what extent. I found that changing my settings helped a lot, most likely switching to DX11 and/or setting PROTON_NO_ESYNC
Vsync has an issue making the framerate is way too low on launch. For now, I recommend disabling it, or you can turn it off and on again each time.

There is still an issue with game crashes to desktop approx. every 10-20 minutes by default. I think the big fix for this is switching to DirectX 11 with the configuration tool. You can also try disabling Esync. The game also autosaves every 5 minutes and is still receiving frequent stability updates. I think the stability is also affecting Windows to an extent so hopefully it'll improve.

Demo version works great except for video playback issue
Intro video file playback was corrupted every time I played it. I'm assuming it's a problem with videos in general for the title but I only saw the one video.
Wasn't able to join via discord invite
I wasn't able to get Discord invites to work. Even though discord recognized the activity, it wouldn't let me join. I haven't tried any other methods of joining a room/invites.
