Game keept crashing at about 60% initial loading screen which I fixed by running: sudo sysctl -w vm.max_map_count=1048576
Launch Options: -nosplash -skipintro
This did not launch crashes on my System when I used Manjaro Xfce few weeks ago but with the KDE Version of Manjaro it seems to run flawlessly.
Wrong GPU selection
DBD keeps selecting the wrong GPU, keeps using onboard graphics instead of my 7900XT which causes the game to run at 12 FPS at 1440p. Even selecting the correct GPU with launch parameter "DRI_PRIME=1 %command%" or "DRI_PRIME=0 %command%" resulted in the onboard graphics being used every time.
Using DRI_PRIME=1 glxinfo | grep "OpenGL renderer" outputs my onboard graphics and DRI_PRIME=0 glxinfo | grep "OpenGL renderer" outputs my 7900XT. In Theory running the game with "DRI_PRIME=0 %command%" should make it use the 7900XT.
Im not sure why this is not the case. As a workaround i just disabled the onboard graphics in my UEFI settings, after which the game run flawlessly.
wrong GPU selection without the option to change the selected GPU ingame
LD_PRELOAD="" %command% -dx12 -ngxdisableota
When using Proton 9.0.4 or current Proton Experimental you get stuck in a Blackscreen after a match. (Game tries to play a video but cant.) This is fixed by using Proton-GE instead.
Very enjoyable as long as you dont crash.
Lower FPS compared to my Windows install. Noticable so on bigger maps. Most maps over 150 FPS on my hardware but on Sunny Meadows it went to about 40.
Whole PC froze after about 5 rounds of play. I dont have crashing issues usually.
crashes on proton 8.0.4 and exp
Default Forced Experimental Proton and Proton 8.0.4 kept crashing on the Epilepsy warning screen. I managed to get by the warning screen by forcing Proton 7 and then select never show again. To fix the stuttery performance change the graphics api ingame to Vulcan and switch back to Proton 8.0.4. Game run stable and with good performance afterwards.
Had one crash in about 70 hours of total playtime.
