Never shows a window
A small Windows 95 like progress bar window will briefly show up and then the game executable will run in the background until killed, spitting out "fixme:file:CancelSynchronousIo (000000000000008C): stub". I've tried both the latest standard Proton as well as the 5.9-GE-5-ST version. I am running Steam through Firejail, so that could be relevant.
I installed, launched and completed the game all from within SteamVR; it works like native
This worked completely out of the box on the Valve Index (the native version doesn't have support for VR).
There seem to be some odd light flickering at certain angles that I don't remember seeing in the native version, but it can likely be fixed by changing some graphical settings (might be related to bloom).
In-game cut scenes (videos playing on monitors) don't work, but the game runs great otherwise
Some texture flickering and most in-game videos only display a white texture
Game launches but main menu doesn't show
After installing dotnet46, the game launches, plays its intro animation sequence and then the image freezes. The menu can still be interacted with as the sounds of selecting things blindly can be heard, but the display never unfreezes. Both fullscreen and windowed fullscreen were tried with the same result.
The game seems to run absolutely perfectly on the Valve Index, though it's not very fun.
Logitech F710 was detected fine (though the button scheme was odd) but my Steam Controller wasn't. Wouldn't surprise me if it's the same in Windows as the game seems like a straight mobile port.
6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
After installing the Annihilation Line DLC all other versions of Proton now run this game at 6-20 FPS, but the 6.21-GE-2 build runs it at full speed, just like before installing the DLC.
The game(s) will either crash or freeze often but seems to be stable when run with PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1.
The first two rooms were tested at the highest graphical settings at 3440x1440 on a 7.1 surround setup with no issues or slowdown whatsoever.
Everything works on the highest settings at 3440x1440 and on my 7.1 soundcard with no performance issues.
5.9-GE-5-ST GloriousEggroll
The Origin window and the game's borderless window struggled a bit for control
The game's process is left hanging, preventing Origin from exiting.
Origin's notifications should also be disabled as they can unfocus the game.
Very enjoyable, until it freezes
Freezes after 5-10 minutes, requiring a kill command
Tested with Proton 6.3
