It's a great game, works well on proton
On some parts of the map and during battles, drops to 15fps
With arguments: prime-run %command% -nolauncher -nosplash -world=empty -skipintro -noLogs -enableHT and with sometimes lacking multiplayer
NVidia card tinkering + ARGS: prime-run %command% -nolauncher -nosplash -world=empty -skipintro -noLogs -enableHT
Radio unreasonably crickerly
Random performence 20-70 fps
On some missions, some actions consistently softlock you. (2035 first mission, opening map)
MP doesn't work, with files always missing, out of ~35 servers, 1 that loaded immidiatly silent kicked to main menu, and 1 other kicked for BattlEye
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 prime-run %command% -noSplash -skipIntro -world=empty -noLauncher
After the most recent update you cannot play multiplayer UNLESS you switch to the profiling branch of the game.
Ocassional crashes but rare.
All tinkering steps are neccesary. Some updates break the game. Some updates and most proton updates clear you singleplayer save.

Works amazing out of the box, no proton required, had to use lowest settings, no fps cap available so had to use vsync.
Works great out of the box
It's important to note though, that this game did not want to start using Proton Experimental or Proton Hotfix. I had to switch back to Proton 9 for it to work.
Requires absolutely no tinkering, it works flawlessly out of the box. Although, while I play on low settings, I think tinkering could help with performance, it never really bothered me, but after 230 hrs i think I'll do some digging into the performance side of things the next time I come to play it.
Doesn't launch period. Game uses EAC, and it's not planned to be released on linux.
prime-run %command%
Game's not launching, used the official playtesting version, launched them through wine, various protons, and GE, none work.
Almost had given up all hopes, then used the winetricks fix and it's WAYY smoother than on windows.

Menu may stutter for the first minute, may miss the backgroun visuals etc. No functionality problems though.
Menu may lag, or load for excessive amounts of time. Creation of new "solar system" game took around 2 minutes.
Works alright, played with friends as well as on servers (w/o anticheat)
At first i installed the game and tried all kinds of protons. Only proton experimental worked, but it was unbearable, with around 0.5fps in the main menu. Later, i applied all the tinkering changes from other reports, im still stunned. Game runs at 120fps at medium settings, even though on windows, i had around 50fps on low settings. You will still encounter errors at launch but they can be ignored. Only significant problems would be the loading times, both menu, servers and game creation loading screens take ages to load. typical menu transition takes around 5-10 seconds, while new game creation can take as much as 2-5 minutes. Connecting to servers is no different, but at least it works.
Does NOT launch. Game is depracated regardless of the system you are using.

Got stuck only at the "connecting to server" stage. Most of the problems and errors were regarding an invalid version of the gecko lib. Game is meant to run on windows then, thus doesn't run well regardless of the platform you are using.
