Works pretty well overall, but game must be set to windowed because it always tries to fullscreen to my other monitor.
Videos are not playing correctly
Can't set fullscreen to my main display
6.14-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Chat not working
Game runs well if you stay in windowed mode and don't add AI. I hope linux binaries will soon be more stable.
gamemoderun %command%
On some maps textures are too dark
AI and switching to fullscreen drops FPS. Stay in windowed mode.
Works fine natively, although Proton gives more performance and better mod compatibility
Some mods don't play nicely with OpenGL and require the game to run via DirectX. Proton must be used for these mods
Works as bad as on Windows, with some minor additional caveats when playing through Proton
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=75 gamemoderun %command%
Mouse could escape game window, when moving fast, no matter if fullscreen was on or off
In some areas, bringing power armor hud or turning on ESC menu caused significant FPS drops.
This is probably just a Fallout issue, not entirely connected to running on Linux.
The game was sped up in some situations (f.e.: lockpicking). Needed to lock framerate with an DXVK var placed in launch options.
Game works mostly the same as when playing on Windows, with some additional graphical bugs. VSync or some kind of framerate limitter needs to be on when playing this game.
Works pretty well, might need to lower graphics settings slightly
The game runs about 15 - 25 FPS slower than on Windows with the same graphics settings
For AMD gpu users: Kernel 6.2 has a bug that crashes the game minutes after start. After downgrading to 6.1 everything works great.
Changed Linux kernel version
Slightly less FPS than on Windows using the same settings (10-15 FPS)
Game can crash randomly after hour or two of gameplay
As noted here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/5285#issuecomment-1513854459 Kernel 6.2 has some bug affecting AMD GPUs that causes crash minutes after game launch. If you have this kernel version, downgrade to 6.1 or wait for a patch that will fix this. (As for 6.2.15 this bug is still there)
If you use newer proton versions you will get "Unsupported video card" error. You have to choose older proton via game properties on steam.
Runs almost perfectly
Game sometimes chooses incorrect audio output. Changing audio output for the executable (via Plasma audio mixer f.e.) helps with this problem.
Works almost perfectly
When alt+tabing, game can sudenly lock to 10-15 FPS
Be sure to check if Easy Anti-Cheat Proton Runtime is installed if multiplayer isn't working for you
MANGOHUD=1 DXVK_HDR=1 gamescope -f -r 165 --hdr-enabled -W 2560 -H 1440 -- %command%
Noticed a random drop to about 20 FPS until game restart. This occured only twice through my entire playthrough though
A really fun and great game to play on Linux. I've used the launch commands to enable HDR which works perfectly fine
SSL_CERT_FILE=/etc/ssl/certs/ca-bundle.crt PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% --coherent-options="--renderer-process-limit=3"
Game is dark on start, but can be fixed by exiting and re-entering fullscreen (Alt+Enter)
Game is not logging into server, despite using SSL_CERT_FILE in launch options
Native version is unplayable due to main menu being not responsive. Game works under proton, but game is not connecting to servers, so playing multiplayer is impossible.
Antialiasing doesn't work
Otherwise you will be playing unsupported version without online features. It's a shame they dropped support for Linux.
Works ok, definitely playable, but I still recommend using OpenRCT2
Game still displays in left-top corner of the screen when alt+tabbed
This only occures in savefile dialog. Mouse cursor is a bit wonky there.
Cutscenes are broken on Proton version newer than 7.0. They are rendering double and only in green and purple. The game is also completely bugged in its newer versions causing crashing to desktop, "Out of memory" errors, missing collisions and etc. I recommend switching to "previousversion" beta that works perfectly fine.
Full version works perfectly, as this was the case with demos
Launching Steam Overlay causes the game to crash
Works just perfectly
Game hangs when exiting game, but everything else works perfectly
Works perfectly though sometimes developers break compatibility with updates
Ensuring that Proton Hotfix is used can help with that
Works perfectly
Can be slightly demanding for weaker machines when a lot of explosions are happening, so you can use gamescope to lower internal game resolution and turn on FSR.
Crashes immediately after launching
Bind some button to Shift+F2 to turn these stupid Ubisoft Connect notifications
Limit screen refresh rate to 45
You need to disable Ubisoft Connect notifications otherwise it will stay in up-right corner that you have outdated graphics drivers. The game will also crash randomly about every hour of gameplay. If Ubisoft would be so kind to shove it's launcher where it belongs, this would be a positive review.
