When the mouse hits the top of the screen, the window gets black in both windowed and FS mode. For the image to be shown once again, you have to set it in the opposed mode (windowed if fs and vice versa). Once you got it set in windowed, the fullscreen won't be full anymore, being just a stripe at the top or a third of the screen at the right
Sometimes, when the controller is plugged, the game skips all of the text and it can't be stopped, if not by closing the game
if you're interested in japanese or chinese text, specifying the local by typing LC_ALL=ja_JP.UTF-8 or LC_ALL=zh_CN.UTF-8 in the launch options is all you need

The game seems to run on vsync, which brings us on having something like 500fps. libstrangle is needed. Once it's installed, you have to set "strangle (desired fps number)" on the launch options
Fullscreen is not full at first, restart needed. If the mouse hits the upper side of the screen, it might go black or plasma shell might stay on the foreground. Plus, it probably will show a blackscreen on windowed mode, force full screen from the option menu, so fullscreen it and restart.
If the mouse hits the upper side of the screen it makes the screen go black in fullscreen.
OpenGL vsync is borked and framerate can go up to 600FPS. Obviously, being kirikiri an old visual novel engine, FPS equal speed in game, so it'll be impossible to play. Install libstrangle and set " STRANGE_VSYNC=0 strangle 60 %command% " on the launch options. https://gitlab.com/torkel104/libstrangle
I know you're expecting this specific clause: Denpasoft's patch is not extractable and installable in this chapter, even after all the claims we did. There are only a (legal) way to get it: extract it on Windows and copy-paste files on the Steam's install folder
Forced vsync off and strangled fps to 60 with libstrangle
windowed mode stays black. put it full screen and then restart the game. When on fullscreen try to avoid touching the highest part of the screen cause the screen goes black when touched, and freeze from time to time. Whenever it happens (might do for changing fonts and such) just press the alt button and it'll return visible
when alt+tabbing it might freeze. be sure to do quick saves from time to time
Videos don't start. The screen will go black for a while and then goes forward
just remember to add "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%" to the launch options
if not applied, the game won't start at all
light stutters
Light lags here and there (like 55fps instead of 60) and light stuttering, completely neglectable though imo.
If not specified, the game will start using vulkan, which is not supported by my hardware. Here's the command line: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
I didn't try on default steam only in fear to corrupt the already existing prefix, but I'm pretty sure it runs flawlessly
on mid-low spec PCs runs way worst than it should
Native's version audio is totally absent, in window's version it goes fine until it freezes
On native version you have to delete "libSDL2-2.0.so.0" from the game folder, on proton controller works fine but only xbox buttons are shown (on native switches to playstation's if you're using a ds4 or ds5)
it freezes at every attack and movement on proton, native's version runs smoothly
freezes at every move on proton and crash if too many inputs are used
Sometimes fullscreen was stuck, and I had to reset it via alt+tab, selecting other apps
Sometimes the mouse wasn't detected
The game runs only on proton 3.7 and proton 3.16

quartz.dll
when opening the steam UI, sometimes it could turm im the windowed mode. Anything truly annoying
strangle 30 %command%
sometimes (rarely) boss fight OSTs skip for half a second, nothing too bothersome. might be the 30 fps cap i set
fixed it in a strange way. firstly i went to Steam>Settings>Controller>Desktop Configuration and chose the "Controller" template from the Template section. after a couple times, i forgot to reswitch to that conf and the controller started running smoothly even without that.
TL;DR: it's like gambling
sometimes steam cloud downloads older saves. remember to keep a backup every now and then
that's just elden ring being elden ring, don't worry much
Crashes when streamed through discord and the call is closed without disconnecting the audio from pipewire SOMETIMES, not always. Didn't found anything that could lead to the source of the problem. Just remember to disconnect it if you're streaming its audio via pipewire.
Don't know how much is eac or my wifi concerned, but occasional lags and stutters found during mp. plus, i find it really hard to find summoning signs on the floor, but messages and bloodstains are everywhere, meaning it might just be a level issue (first playthrough i don't know what is the community standard). Once the anticheat flagged my save as malicious, i moved it in and out of the folder and the problem was fixed. If the same happens but this doesn't seem to fix it try using this tool https://github.com/BenGrn/EldenRingSaveCopier/, it copies a character slot from save a to save b without changing its hash
if you don't like bad stuttering try to cap its fps via https://gitlab.com/torkel104/libstrangle
Crash after fullscreen activation, and then the game is no longer startable. Deleted "Enigma.cf" and all DLLs from the game folder and reinstalled them.
Movies don't play
I tried both as a compatibility tool. They both work fine
I installed mods through vortex, and installed .net up to 4.6.2. The game starts and it runs, but it doesn't detect the mods. If you set STEAM_RUNTIME=1 in the launch options, it works a bit better
If you alt+tab, the game disappears
The game doesn't recognize my mods, so it basically reset up all my companions and such
the game is generally stabler than on windows, but it is quite difficult to get it to recognize your hardware or to mod it
The slowing-downs I noticed are probably due to the GPU model I have, since it's a pretty old one, and a mobile version too.
I'm using NVSE, if calling my GPU through DRI_PRIME=1 the script extender loads endlessly without Wine D3D. Tried both D3DX9 and D9VK
The pip-boy radio skips every single song after 30-ish seconds, same for the BGMs. Map radios seem to work just fine though
The mouse has a really fast acceleration but it is a known problem already. I use the controller and I noticed no problems whatsoever
With the integrated GPU (Intel HD Graphics 620) the game goes real smooth up to 60 frames, but whenever i call for the discrete one it won't go over the 30 fps cap if not looking right downwards or up to the sky
Well... you know... New Vegas... New Vegas never changes...
Vortex works no more since .Net is borked since Wine 5.12
idk if it's beacuse of proton or if it is a engine bug, but it looks as if it is running at 20fps even though it's a full 60. cutscenes stutter every 5 second and block for up to 2 seconds.
it's an almost passable experience. it is playable, but the problems are up to the surface
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
In windowed mode cutscenes show a black screen
lags even at lowest graphics, sometimes it freezes
Always crashes on vulkan, sometimes it freezes when using WINED3D
the game is officially supported for steamOS so it's worked on pretty good, and was originally linux native. it runs as it should
If you play on controller and have met double inputs after upgrading to repentance (or after repentance+ got out) change the controller layout to anything but the official layout. Editing it won't solve it
Double input with and without steam input on when using the official layout. It also affects the keyboard when steam input is on, but not always. I tried a xinput (Gamesir nova lite), a DS4 and a switch pro controller, so it's definitley not a hardware issue
If you use a controller and have repentance installed, you MUST use proton 9.0-4. otherwise you'll have double input issues. sometimes it also affects keyboard
the controller is not mapped properly if any version after 9.0-4, GE and experimental included, and is read as multiple controllers at the same time
Proton GE 6.20-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
the models are kind of spiky on the borders
the game runs at unstable 50 frames
It crashes on loading screens and freezes all of the machine (can't enter tty and can't suspend/power off the pc)
installed a bunch of japanese fonts, otherwise the game won't show the text. (I suggest you the ipamincho)
Often, clicking at the center of the window wasn't detected (the cursor as well changed from the game's to the default manjaro's one)
Even with locale and language forced to be in japanese from the launch options, the game still shows corrupted text
Fullscreen overheats my hardware, especially when animations are present. Sometimes, switch from FS to windowed, every app is transparent at the center of the monitor until the game is on. When it happens, the only thing you can do is closing the game, it won't detect your left click anymore
the game consumes excessive amounts of cpu
