It's a tough call. I think the experience is alright overall but I don't think the inexplicable crashes is a good exp
Cutscene audio is complete missing
I've witnessed two crashes going into the atelier on two different occasions.
Hopefully things get ironed out in the long run but I have heard Koei Tecmo isn't exactly the best when it comes to PC relases
The game crashed once during the tutorial. After switching to experimental the game worked without any issues
A fun light rogulite with an emphasis on inventory management
Game works out of the box. I am interested in trying this out sans proton but regardless you shouldn't have trouble playing this game
A fun fighting game that focuses on being easy to pick up while offering some nuance at higher levels
works great since day one
A retro styled FPS drawing inspiration from KingsField and other older Fromsoft fantasy titles, but resembles games like Hexen as well
Tested out the game and it seems to work just fine. Will write another report after a full playthrough
Sound would slow down due to game slowing down. See my note on performance problems
Occasionally there would be slowdown when engaging with enemies
I have a 9070 xt which is bleeding edge at the moment so unstable drivers may contribute to this issue. However I have noticed weird slowdowns on occasion with ray tracing on. I may try to dial the settings back a bit, including ray tracing to see if this fixes anything.
Would hard crash my desktop to the point where I cannot access a TTY to kill the process. Switching to hotfix seems to have fixed this issue
This game seems to work fine for the most part once I switched to the hotfix version. The game occasionally slows down while in battle but unsure if this is caused by bleeding edge hardware and drivers, or settings such as ray tracing turned on
An rpg with similar mechanics to the megaten family of games. If you enjoyed those games then you'll like this
Works great since day one. Not quite finished yet but tens of hours in
If you enjoyed modern monster hunter entries a la monster hunter worlds, you'll enjoy this.
Initially the game would crash while compiling vulkan shaders. I needed to remove amdvlk and use vulkan-radeon.
After moving to vulkan-radeon, the game runs without any crashes
Prior to purchasing a 9070xt, the game ran decently on my 6900 xt.
However I experienced frequent hard crashes every few hours without warning (no slowdowns, frame drops; everything would simply freeze while the audio kept playing).
I tried lowering the graphical settings, turned off frame gen and upscaling to no avail.
I'm not sure if my video card or the switch to the mesa-25 fixed things. Specifically 25.0.0, as 25.0.1 featured in arch's core repo is severely impacts performance on my 9070 xt for some reason
Game works just as well as it does on Windows
The game works just as well as it does on Windows. There are a few bugs with Muse Dash, but they were the same bugs I witnessed when I played it on Windows e.g. a weird screen bug where a dialogue does not close if you switch between song select and the player dashboard screen a.k.a the screen prior to song select.
I played the first hour and a half of the game and just wanted to report I havent had any significant problems playing thus far, saving, and loading the game. I plan to do a more full report when I play a fair bit more.
Wanted to simply report that the game more or less works OOTB for me
Getting my controller to work took a couple of tries. Wanted to give my initial report. Will probably re-rate once I play the game complete
Cinematic cutscenes (e.g. Opening movie, and cinematics that did not play out via manga/comic panels) had missing audio
Make sure to enable steam input and choose the Gamepad layout that's appropriate for your device (i.e. PS4, PS5, Switch Pro, etc.) Game seems to work fine with a PS5 controller
Game would stutter every so often
It took a few tries to get my controller to work similar to elden ring. I had to run the controller configuration via the "Controller Settings" link in the overlay, rather than Steam > Controller > Desktop settings. It took a few tries to set my controller's configuration then restarting to get my controller to work correctly.
The game crashes shortly after booting when attempting to create some sort of initial system data/save file.
I have tried several different versions of Proton GE7.37-1, Proton 7.0-4, Proton Experimental to no avail. After attempting to log some debugging info the only thing I saw possibly related was
Unhandled exception: unimplemented function kernel32.dll.CreateFileTransactedA called in 64-bit code (0x0000000170032198).
I have no idea what might be wrong. I hope it can be fixed soon since it was a game demoed on the steam deck during a Japanese Games expo. I have yet to try this out on my deck.

The intial save creation was fixed as of Proton GE7-38 after it had been patched to implement an API call that was previously missing
I am reporting back to state that the game seems to work just fine as of GE7-38. You no longer have to create a save file on a Steam deck nor Windows; Persona 5 no longer crases in the "create a save" screen that appears when you start the game for the first time.
The game initially crashed with some serious glitches until I switched to proton hotfix. After that the game ran stable more or less
Remaster of a remake of a the classic Super Famicom game.
One thing I would like to note is that I did not test cloud saves which I intend to try out soon. I will write a follow review once I play through the game in it's entirety though that may take a bit given this game has quite a bit of content
Everything simply works out of the box. Cloud saves between my main rig and steam deck worked flawlessly as well
The game seems to run well with minimal issues. I am about 15 or so hours into the game and haven't run into any significant issues. At one point the game save corruption was something of an issue with cloud save syncing, however that seems to have been fixed at some point and haven't had any file save corruption issues after syncing.
Should you encounter a "save corrupted" error after syncing, you can do the following
- Go to the settings menu in the game's title
- Change any setting
- Save the settings.
- Restart the game
- Go to Load game. You should now be able to bypass the "save corrupted" error.
One other caveat about my review is that it seems that I no longer need to run it with Proton GE. I'm not sure when this happened but I'm able to play the game just fine without any sort of issue as of recent.
Tetris grand master adds some fun modes on top of regular tetris including some mechanics that make it a different game
on launch day the game had weird issues detecting controllers. On the first boot i had to disconnect my keyboard after booting the game in order for it to see my controller. the bug seems to have been fixed since then
Works well out of the box
The game works well out of the box. No need to switch compatibility layers or do any sort of tinkering. I have not done a full playthrough but I was able to get through a few battles up until two or three missions past the "tutorial" section of the game (4 or 5 battles). Given this I suspect the rest of the game works just fine.
One thing I haven't tested is cloud saves. I hope to write a full report after a full playthrough whenever I get around to it, but rest assured Tactics Ogre works without any sort of issues out of the box
