If you Alt+Tab out of game, it will revert to PC controls. This could be a bug however...
If you're having issues, specificially with multiplayer, try running it under Proton Experimental

Single-player ran at a locked 60fps at max settings, but any time a player connected to begin multiplayer, the framerate would drop to a locked 30fps or dip lower. It would also introduce other issues like audio bugs, inconsistent framepacing, and random slowdowns.
This was solved by temporarily (or permanetly) using: sudo sysctl kernel.split_lock_mitigate=0
As of right now, this seems to only affect newer Intel CPU's. However, I'm no expert so take that with a grain of salt. If that fix doesn't work for you, perhaps trying to follow this might help: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/8751#issuecomment-2945876353
Please make sure to see my notes if you have an Intel processor and you're experiencing that multiplayer bug. I hope it helps, but if not, please refer to Valve's github page on the matter
The beginning starts off great, but the more the player progresses, the more unstable the playing experience becomes (around the 3/4 mark).

Would randomly be unable to make any inputs into the game unless if I reloaded a save with a controller.
Infrequent crashing
Multiple gamebreaking bugs such as inability to load saves, infinite saving, infinite loading, and losing the ability to input controls. The last one is probably due to wine crashing, though I haven't investigated enough to come to any conclusions.
I'd recommend the game, but there is some much needed patching before you begin a playthrough on Linux.
Game shows the EAC launcher and then crashes

You need to play for about 3-ish hours (assuming you're on a SSD) for all of the shaders to compile. After that, it's silky smooth like playing on console
Fantastic experience all around, and besides the 2-3 hour shader compilation, it runs very fluid and online works just fine as well!
PlayAnywhere.exe installer would boot up and nothing would happen after 100% except Steam killing the process

I eventually got everything working and was able to host a game. However, it "logged out" my session mid-game and forced me to restart.
Steps to get everything working:
Delete /Steam/steamapps/compatdata/552500 Enable Beta "temporary_launcher_workaround - Bypass Launcher" Restart Steam Verify the game files Delete / Rename "WebView2Loader.dll" and MicrosoftEdgeWebview2Setup.exe" ( you can find both here: /Steam/steamapps/common/Warhammer Vermintide 2/launcher) Run the game & select either "Bypass Launcher" (dx11) or "Bypass Launcher (dx12)"
