Fullscreen would freeze after any sort of interaction
Used steam launch option -windowed. Then set resolution in game options to native resolution. This is not just a proton problem. Played on a windows box and the same freezing occurred. Same solution. Game played like native otherwise.
Insta crashed when implant upgrades were opened.
DX11 runs better than DX12 at this time. Other than upgrade menu issues, 100% playable. Great framerates, all epic settings.
Occaisonal hitching early game though it does level out later on.
Proton-6.1-GE-1
Had hitching issues when using standard proton versions. Tested out Proton-6.1-GE-1 as a previously commented. Plays like native install now.

Make sure to have EAC runtime installed :). Had to disable steam overlay. Game started in windowed mode. Had to restart game due to blank screen after switching to windowed fullscreen. No firther issues encountered. Ran just like windows. 2560x1440 medium settings across the board with FSR 2.0 set to quality. Dips into 60s during heavy combat, otherwise 80-100 fps depedning on area. Played multiple missions over several hours with no hiccups of any kind.
Ensured that I was host.
Made sure to have proton EAC installed. Did not encounter any issues with install. Launcher did crash the first time game was started. Started launcher a 2nd time and was able to enter game with no issues. Game will default you to lowest settings, just change them as needed in the game menus. Knocked around the keep exploring for about 30 min and played through two missions without a hitch.
