Had to delete the compatdata folder several times before rockstar launcher would actually work properly, works fine now.
Runs like trash compared to windows. RX 480 8gb normally does 60 fps no stutter on windows at high settings. Same graphics card does 40 fps with stutter on ubuntu with proton 5.13-2 at mostly low settings.
Crashes every once in a while out of the blue, but it does that on Windows too so I'm not gonna blame Proton for that.
Works perfectly out of the box on steam proton 5.13-6
Multiplayer works, singleplayer works. Some significant performance issues over how it plays on windows, but it's not absurdly slow. I can get 1080p 30-40fps with the settings cranked all the way down on my rx480 8gb.
Stuck at bios screen in proton 5.13-2
tried all versions of proton up to 5.13-2, won't even launch with anything before proton 5, won't launch with steam linux runtime. holding del does not open settings (though I'm not sure if that's a feature, it just implies it on the bios screens)
I used to be able to run it fine out of the box on native steam client with default steam proton, latest steam proton, and proton-GE 6.2. An update came out in the last week or so, afterwards it refused to launch the window. It would run in the background without actually crashing, but it never actually opened the window or played any audio etc, it would just have the "STOP" button in the steam library view, and the game title/status was "Raft - Running", and it appeared as a single process in htop. Installed proton-ge 7.0, works perfectly just as it did before. I'm blown away by what gloriouseggroll has achieved with their fork of proton, and how easy it is to install.

Works great on proton 5.13-2, all DLCs working, save games work, etc
Game starts glitching and not recovering mouse-capture (or accepting mouse input) after ~12 hours of the game being open
Cannot do windowed mode, only fullscreen, glorious soviet music is missing. Otherwise totally playable.
