installed, worked. 70ish stable fps on battles, everything maxed on 1440p. Smooth.
Renaming the Darkest hour.exe into Darkest Hour launcher.exe actually made the trick! No music playing. Rest of the audio working (this is the same as hoi2, for me). changing resolution in the cfg work as intended. I am not shure how to workaround mods installation since the game launcher is not working. Game is for the rest working correctly!
FPS drops almost everywhere, especially during cutscenes. Generally playable, but only offline tested.
xbox controller plugged in, game won't start and hung. From proton github page, it is a known issue for some peripherals. Unplugging Controller and game will start. Another issue which i could not find a solution, is that game only recognize monitor as 60Hz, leading to stuttering when and if you manage to push the game above that (for example during cut scenes). Steam fps limiter does not work. Another small issue, being sounds not always at balanced volume (some voices heard less than music). But all aside, these issues are indeed minor, and game is perfectly playable and fine nonetheless.
protontricks corefonts installed, everything run super smoothly. After a few hours ingame straight game may start to stutter a little, but restarting it solves it. Game apart from these minor things run perfectly with very stable framerate.
Connection with server can't be estabilished. In offline mode gameplay is limited but otherwise would be Platinum with 70ish steady fps on ultra settings. Very close to Platinum.
Runs perfectly and smoothly, but there is no music. Rest of the sound works. Both Vanilla and Doomsday work as intended, at least for a few months run trying click any button.
Starts only in steam offline mode, audio is laggy and buggy, gamepad unrespnsive during videos (which are very frequent), generally very unpleasant all around as an experience.
Only offline. Last update solved audio stuttering. A few minor hassles (pre match animations sometimes hang a little bit longer than they should, and text messages do the same).
i think it's related to being a flash game. The game isn't able to save and load games.
The mouse problem is still there, but if possible it got better in consequent proton versions, at least for me, and is now bearable and game is playable.
Game install and run without tweaks, but is generally stuttery and controls are delayed, also game crash often. Not running as intended.
you could play the game even with the stuttering, and then reset the game once the stuttering is too heavy.
pulseaudio reset and latency reduction
the game launches and display correctly the content only around a square-ish aspect-ratio. Windowed worked, resizing it more than a certain point turned most of the graphical elements to black (not everything, words and gui is visible even when the black occurs)
only windowed. Escaping fullscreen and minimizing is the only way i can make the game start.
incremental stuttering and gpu load
Using i3 wm. Launching the game from lutris on a different workspace where the game loads. Switching workspace to the one with lutris. Launching consequently the game windowed. This way i was able to make the game start, and even import saves. i had to switch again workspaces once the game start to make the screen visible and not black. Had to resize to a square-ish ratio the window or the content of the screen would appear black making the game not playable. Then played the game for two hours. No disable audio needed, audio worked fine, game worked fine. stuttering occurred and climaxed by 2 hours, forcing me to shut down the game.
First launch it froze, second launch everything worked but there was some minor sound issue in main menu. Then on first game (start from earth) everything apparently worked as intended on max settings.
