Runs roughly the same as on Windows, making it a great experience despite a few issues with the audio
Audio missing during cutscenes can be fixed by adding the following launch parameter: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=b,n" %command%. There's also some crackling in the audio unfortunately.
Pretty severe stuttering that eventually goes away the more you play
Crashes very frequentely, making this an unbearable experience
Slight stuttering because of shader compilation, eventually goes away. Finally runs like a charm and doesn't crash anymore
Perfect. Sometimes you'll face some slight stuttering but overall it's a phenomenal experience playing this great game
Minor stuttering when loading a map for the first time. No more stuttering afterwards
I think there might be something wrong with the combination of the latest Proton version with the newest Nvidia drivers on POP_OS.
Horrible frame rate making the game unplayable. Got about 15-20 fps in the opening section
Play the native version and use these launch parameters: -force-vulkan -screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1080. Proton crashes the game
Played this for a bit during the playtest and it works like a charm out of the box. Perfect experience
Occasional stutters and audio crackling but the game runs really well out of the box. Similiar to the experience of playing it on Windows
Might be because of low vram on my system but going to the menu caused a major slowdown that was only fixed by changing the resolution scale to something else and then resetting it. Probably only happens on low end PCs
Slight stutter when booting up the game for the first time. Runs perfectly soon afterwards
The game itself runs incredibly well, even on my low end PC. Cutscenes are missing and occasional freezing/audio stuttering
Occasional freezing, especially the audio
Cutscenes missing
Absolutely perfect aside from minor stuttering at first. Don't try to play the uplay version of this with proton, you need in on steam
Slight stutter when you start playing due to shader cache. Goes away after a while
Too unstable. A shame really because the performance is great and this is one of the best racers on steam
Screen was black when using fullscreen
Slight microstutters
Random freezing
Make sure you have a good PC. Otherwise it's flawless
Might be my PC but the performance is absolutely terrible. With a Gtx 1050 I had to lower everything to the lowest settings and play at about 40% resultion scale
Won't even start
Was invited to the second flight. Unfortunately the game doesn't even boot up, probably due to anti-cheat
Runs incredibly well. Could've fooled me for a native linux verison
Horrible frame rate when compared to Windows
Major stuttering during the first race and afterwards, when entering a never before seen zone of the map. Great performance overall
Quite a few bugs and most importantly, frequent crashes, deter you from having a perfect experience. Still playable from start to end tho
-ignorepipelinecache
Quite a few texture related issues especially when looking at signs. Alisasing seems to be worse as well
The game crashed every 2 hours or so despite having almost perfect performance. Adding "-ignorepipelinecache" to the launch options definitely helped prolong my gaming sessions (otherwise finishing the game would've been much more painful) but still didn't permantently fix the issue. This command also takes a heavy toll on performance
Phenomenal game that I wish was completely fixed with proton...
Only bug I could find was that the inventory would stop working after alt-tabbing. This can be solved my changing the inventory keybind
Works incredibly well for a game that has just been released
Every single cutscene that isn't in-engine and is just a video, doesn't work. There's just this TV test screen showing. This was also an issue in RE Village but it's worse here since it breaks all conversations with Hunnigan (including the audio)
Update from my previous report: using ProtonGE fixes the videos and no longer shows a TV test screen during calls with Hunnigan.
Running perfectly
Runs like a native version should. There's a single bug in the entire game where instead of seeing a film, there's just a green screen
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Massive stuttering. No idea if it eventually goes away, haven't played the game enough to know
When running the game with Proton Experimental, the game crashed during the loading screen. Changing to version 7.0-4 fixed the issue (either that or the launch option)
Xbox Series controller not detected. Seems to be an issue with all EA games right now
Very minor stuttering
Game crashed the first time I started playing it. Ran fine after that
Amazing experience out of the box. Runs like a native version would
No idea why the rating for this one is so low. I installed it, pressed play and it just worked perfectly
Online works perfectly. No problems playing on official servers despite using EAC
Runs incredibly well. Almost feels like a native version of the game
Make sure to use Proton 4.11-13 because for some reason the game starts crashing during Episode 3 with Proton 5.0.9
