Runs great - Easy Anti cheat will be installed automatically, but runs well. I have set Steam to Beta Participation in gerneral.
Perfect! No Tinkering, No issues - only Beta participation active.
No issues discovered so far on my Linux PC. Only if I try to stream to my old deprecated Steam Link it flickers - but maybe this problem is on Windows too (I didn't try so far).
most likely related to my older hardware. Not sure if it would run better on windows to be honest.
when using the most recent version of Proton (Beta enabled) the game won't start. A message appears telling you: A d3d11-compatible GPU (Feature Level 11.0, Shader Model 5.0) is required to run the engine
way too unstable. constantly crashing - even the whole login/UI session crashes and you need to re-login again.
tried all other options as well (Proton-GE, different proton version, Launch options as proposed by one comment. All crashed immediatly except the default options.
not even possible to play more than 5 minutes.
Running on Steam experimental anyhow - don't know if it would run smoothly without that switch. I don't see any problems with this game so far - everything works as expected.
From my point of view Platinum. No issues on my Linux PC.
No Tinkering, only Steam Beta participation.
I guess no difference to Windows. Everything works perfectly, I wasn't able to identify any problems.
I generally run Steam Beta, so I can't say if you would have problems without it (but I doubt it). It runs perfectly fine, I didn't do anything - just installed and it worked. I also didn't identify any bugs related to Linux install.
great game runs also great on my linux desktop
as always - steam beta activated, no tinkering
Tried some tinkering as proposed by some users, but nothing worked out. Also tried several proton version, from experimental to GE.
runs really smooth without problems except sometimes initially mouse not recognized immediately.
Mouse view during gameplay (not in menu) was not working for a moment, but after a while without doing nothing it worked fine again.
Mouse control is partially not working. Seems to be connected to the nprotect game guard (https://github.com/LizardByte/Sunshine/issues/1416). Sometimes the issue recovers and then I can play without problems, still annoying.
Fullscreen was giving me crashes from time to time - but might have been related to the VSNC option which I tried "On"
Initially I had problems that the AntiCheat client was preventing my mouse to turn my character - so it was not usable. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not - I couldn't find a pattern. But since a few weeks this problem seems to be solved. No problems anymore.
I have massive issues when turning VSYNC on (it's off by default). The game crashed randomly and sometimes didn't even start. But with VSYNC off it's working fine. Also I changed back from Fullscreen to Borderless window (which is also default).
I only run Steam Beta by default
I generally use Steam Beta, so I don't know if it would run with default, but I guess so. Other than that no tinkering. It worked perfectly fine out of the box. Only downsite is that the game doesn't support Steam Family (I would need to purchase two copies in order to play it on two different machines - and as the title suggests it always takes two), but this problem is platform independend. Other than that great game and no issues playing on linux!
Slightly jerking in flyovers (doesn't matter that much). Input lags with mouse are quite annoying.
some jerks in flyover videos. as the game is very static (=golf) it doesn't disturb that much.
Some month ago the game ran smoothly natively on Linux. Now it crashes instantly when trying to run natively. With Proton it's a bit jerky.
I generally switched to Steam Beta as every Steam Linux user I guess and the game runs perfectly fine without tinkering. Only my old hardware is getting to its limits.
Everything smooth without issues, runs very good on my Linux PC.
Steam beta participated, no other tinkering - everything default. No issues so far. Only downsite is that the game in general is focussing on next gen consoles and the perfect graphics support is only there, but this affects Windows as well.
Runs perfect out of the box! Great game - happy to play on my Linux PC.
I have Steam Beta activated in gerneral.
I would say platinum support! No issues so far on my Linux PC.
Great game! Runs as smooth as it does on Windows. Steam beta participated.
disappointing - as it is even stated as NATIVE and doesn't work (Proton not working as well)
eval "gamemoderun $(echo "%command%" | sed "s/2KLauncher\/LauncherPatcher.exe'.*/Base\/Binaries\/Win64Steam\/CivilizationVI_DX12.exe'/")"
Tried different things (native install, Proton 7.0, Proton experimental, Proton-GE - with launch options and without) ... nothing worked out so far. Not even able to start the game.
Platinum - what else to say. No tinkering, no problems - excellent!
Steam Beta participation activated. No Tinkering - everything default. Runs perfect on my Linux PC.
Runs perfect on my Linux PC (AMD Grafics & GPU, Arch based Distro). No Tinkering.
Steam Beta is active, but no tinkering required. I had problems with my old hardware (Nvidia graphics card), where I was already on the edge of playable. There I noticed it slightly ran more smooth on Windows, but with my new AMD PC there is no difference and it runs perfect!
