Currently have to use Proton 4.11. With Proton 5 the game crashes and never loads.
Steam overlay did not work.
No noticable issues. Performance was fine. Undetectible from playing native.
Played the first mission in co-op. It was one of the best co-op experiences from any game.
If all games were like this, then there would be no need for Windows for Games.

Played first couple of missions. This game has a native public beta available. Just go to Properties -> Beta and select the "public_beta_linux" option. No need to run this game through Proton. The official Linux support should be releasing soon.
At high graphics, I'm running at 144fps most of the time with minor dips to 130fps.
Seems to have mostly gone away with latest Proton releases.
The Logitech Driving Force GT works perfectly out of the box.
It just works. Plays fine at 40+ FPS on my laptop. Never dips low where it feels slow or choppy.
gamemoderun %command%
Ran with gamemoderun to help keep performance maximized to prevent any potential studdering.
With Proton 4.2, games runs great and doesn't require to disable DX11 and fallback to DX10 anymore. I have played several matches. FPS is high enough I don't notice any slowness at 2k. Periodically, it will fail to start game properly, but just relaunching usually works fine. Alt tab causes the game to shift for the Gnome menu bar, and doesn't come back, and apps don't display over the game. No cursor visible on steam overlay interface.
Runs great. Mouse is sensitive in menus, but usable. Played through the first 2 missions with no issues.
Odd line in text. Still readable, and nothing preventing gameplay.
Had to run using Proton 5.0-10
Gives error saying "application error occurred", then creates a "Mars.dmp" file. I tried moving the two files suggested in previous post to the home directory, but still failed to launch.
I had to select the DX9 launcher option otherwise it would crash. Without the D3d11 option, it would load the game to a black screen at the menu, with the cursor and music playing. The game performance is a bit sporatic around respawn fountains, and perhaps other water locations, but I only tested around the respawn fountain.
