The game runs smoothly on Linux FHD +80fps at ultra settings, which surprised me as it performs better than on Windows.

But it's game-specific. I've already read about numerous crashes occurring in this game on more recent hardware, even when running it under Windows. I would say that Proton and VKD3D have likely reduced the number of crashes, as they were also relatively rare.
Official Proton works well, but there is no audio. However, Proton-GE has resolved the audio issues.
