Have to use PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% in launch options are cards are invivble.
Fails to start just sits at a black window
Same issue even with Proton-GE

Ran mf-install in the games prefix and the game runs flawlessly with Proton-5.4-GE-3
Some stuttering and grass issues. Other than that is ran fine and controller worked.

All work fine once you use the launch command.
In the event the game crashes at the final cut-scene this is a known bug with the mod. A fix can be found here: https://github.com/Albeoris/Memoria/issues/142#issuecomment-677456708
So after applying the fix just select the "Continue" option at the main menu and you will get taken to the cut scene right before it previously crashed. So no real progress will be lost.
With or without mods this game will slowdown for some fights

100%ed the game no problem. To make sure that FF8_demastered & along with all of the mods work you need to run the game with the following launch command:export WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b"; %command%
Game stutter no matter the settings but that is how it is on Windows at the moment.
Game runs and you are able to play there are a couple graphic glitches but the game seems to be having these same issues even on Windows.
Everything worked out of the box for both games, except for the opening videos that in .wmv.

Every time you enter a save room for the second time with the game is on it soft locks. A workaround is to restart the game every time after saving so you never encounter this.

Only seems to launch with Proton-tkg 5.18. Older versions of official Proton or Proton-GE did not work. https://github.com/frogging-family/wine-tkg-git/releases
Once that Proton version is installed into steam and the game is launch with it, everything runs flawless.
Takes a minute to launch, but works out of the the box perfectly using latest Proton at the time of this report.
Completed the game on Proton. The game must be installed somewhere without a "." in the path or the game will crash on a heavy punch. So the default Linux location will not work. This is a issue on Windows as well hence the Platinum rating over the Gold rating.
Played the game from start to finish with little to no issue. The game has issue when ran in full-screen. Use borderless if you want the same experience. The only time the game would act up is when the lightdm lockscreen activated, the game would result in a black screen of death. Controller support was perfect
