Frequent stuttering
I experienced frequent and sudden frame drops (from 60 fps to 40-50), specially while flying the ship.
Some text is incredibly hard to read.
Game often stutters, even at stable framerates.
This game does not hold a stable 60 fps, but also does not like it when you go below it. I tried everything, but there's stutters that often happen, at any framerate. I had the best result with proton 7.0-5, keeping the in-game framerate at 60, and locking it to 30 through steam. You won't get as much stutters, but it will still happen. Mostly when you go exploring.
I experienced heavy audio crackling.
This game should not be listed as verified. I couldn't fix the audio crackling, so I can't recommend this on the deck right now.
As someone else also reported, at first run you get a launcher that requires touch screen or mouse.
Game has to be force closed.
The game runs pretty well out of the box, but suffers from minor frame drops. Switching to Proton Experimental solves that completely. The game looks great at max settings, and is locked at 60 fps without taking up too much resources. Perfect for the Steam Deck.
Capped framerate at 30.
Game has a launcher that requires touch screen or mouse, but you can disable it permanently after your first run.
Very minor framedrops when entering combat, and loading new areas.
If you simply want to enjoy the game out of the box, don't get the FF13 fix, IMO. It made the game run a lot worse for me.
Game starts up in a larger resolution, you have to manually change it in the settings.
The first few minutes of the game are fine. But when I got to the combat, I experienced very frequent game freezes that I had to force quit out of. I tried every proton version, including experimental and GE. Nothing fixed the constant freezing. Cannot recommend this game right now.
Aspect ratio seems locked at 16:9. So there are vertical black bars, and side bars.
Even though it's a shame the aspect ratio seems locked at 16:9, causing bars on all sides, the collection runs perfectly. No tinkering needed.
The only thing I tweaked was adding a button in the steam controller profile that turbo fires.
Aspect ratio seems locked at 16:9, causing both vertical black bars, and side bars.

Without compatibility mode, or with proton experimental selected, the background is missing in the main menu. This is fixed by using GE.
The game started in a much larger window than the Deck. I had to go into options then hit down three times to get to the resolution section and change it to borderless windowed.
The game needs some minor tinkering. But it runs perfectly after that.
Changed graphic settings preset to low, but kept resolution scaling at 100%. Capped framerate at 30.
Some text is pretty hard to read.
Even with my customized graphic settings, and at 30 fps, the game still uses a surprisingly high amount of power. But besides that, it runs and plays incredibly well on the deck.
Capped the framerate at 40.
I changed the game's resolution to 1080p through the game properties in Steam (make sure you change this within the game, as well). This gets rid of the 'jagged' UI look, and makes the game look a lot better, too.
Due to this, we don't need AA anymore. So I turned it off. I also changed shadows to low, and turned off depth of field.
Turned down all graphic settings to low, and capped the framerate at 40.
Even with tweaked settings, framerate isn't consistent.
Game crashes often for me, giving me a 'Fatal Error'.
Due to the frequent crashes, I cannot currently recommend this game on the Deck. I tried Proton 7.0.5, Experimental, and GE 7-43.
Capped the framerate at 40.
Some text was too tiny. You might have to use the steam button+L1 hotkey for the magnifier.
Game is locked to 720p.
I'm not sure if it's needed, but I'm using proton 7.0-5. The game runs basically flawlessly, with a very rare stutter on transitions.
Turned down most graphic settings, and capped framerate at 40.
Text was a little small.
Performance isn't great regardless of settings
Game kept crashing for me.
I couldn't find a fix for the crashes, so I can't recommend this game on the deck right now.
Game shows keyboard inputs on screen, I couldn't find a way to change it to show controller.
If you don't mind a little trial and error with controls, because of the on-screen keyboard prompts, this game runs perfectly fine.
Use the recommended proton 7. If you use 8 or experimental, you'll get heavy stuttering. Besides that, follow the previous protondb report.
When launching the game for the first time, select the japanese option (which is the configuration tool). Change windowed to fullscreen, and leave the other settings as is. Lastly, make sure you set the game's profile to 30 fps, to avoid stutters.
