Persistent stuttering if FPS set to above 60, not sure if this is Proton specific or universal
If you stick to 60 FPS, it plays exactly like Windows. I'm sure regular Proton causes no issues at this point, but GE yields slightly faster load times, so be sure to take note if that's something particularly important to you
Installed dotnet6 and fonts to the game prefix, to make the game work with the Advanced Launcher and Asylum Reborn mods
Having PhysX on makes the game run at 20-30 FPS. Turning it off fixes the issue
HUD can dissapear because of a reason I couldn't identify. Not sure if this is a mod bug, a Proton issue, or both at once
Installed City Redux and Advanced launcher per Berny23's guide
As with Asylum, having PhysX on kills the FPS down to 30-40. Turn it off to play comfortably
If you're not interested in upscaled textures or expanded settings, you'll have a much simpler time setting up and enjoying the game. I am, however, weird like that

Most Gameworks options are not available, but the game still looks gorgeous without them
Extreme stuttering in menus and intro cutscene

Had minor lag issues, but that can be attributed to a lack of VRAM more than anything

Set up mods and modloader
Setting up mods was pretty straightforward and painless. Without them, the game is not very enjoyable. They don't introduce any issues and the game runs perfectly with them installed
If you are like me and keep your Steam games on a separate drive, rest easy knowing that the new Hedge Mod Manager flatpak works with no issues after giving it permission to acces your steamapps/common folder
-novid -nojoy -nosteamcontroller -nohltv -particles 1 -precachefontchars +exec preloader.cfg
Mods that are not .vpk like HUDs need you to have a watchful eye to keep their folders lowercase, but they work flawlessly as well
Lite audo crackling at random times
Game could only handle 1 Alt-Tab, after which it maximized into a 800x600 square and became unplayable
Slower load times than Windows
The audo issues reported by previous contributors have been fixed both in latest Experimental and GE. Experimental does give slightly slower load times than GE, which is the primary reason to use it, as the loading times in this one suffer slightly under Linux. The issues still present are minor enough to still enjoy the game with next to no discomfort, especially if you are a handheld player
