Full playthrough. Constant 75-200FPS on maxed settings without VSync. Only typical shader stutter on rendering of new environment. The -nointro is there for convenience only. Steam launch options used: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -nointro
Setting PhysiX to High crashes the game. Fixed by leaving/setting it to Low.
Requires a copy of Borderlands2.exe to be renamed to Launcher.exe in [GAMEPATH]/Binaries/Win32/
Native version crashes on me missing libopenal.so.1. Steam's Linux Runtime also crashes.
Requires a copy of BorderlandsGOTY.exe to be renamed to Launcher.exe in [GAMEPATH]/Binaries/Win64/
PhysiX effects are disabled in the options menu.
Requires a copy of BorderlandsPreSequel.exe to be renamed to Launcher.exe in [GAMEPATH]/Binaries/Win32/
Native version crashes on me missing libopenal.so.1. Steam's Linux Runtime also crashes.
Game runs perfectly fine.
Enabling "Realtime Reflections" in the game's settings will cause a massive frame rate drop. Everything else causes no issues.
Native version segfaults on Manjaro for me. A slightly more advanced (though not requiered) configuration can be found on the Steam forums here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/233610/discussions/3/2250055685730815710/#c2250055685739196649
60FPS mostly on Medium settings. Drops to 45-55 while building settlements. Disabled God Rays, Motion Blur and Ambient Occlusion in the game launcher's advanced settings. High settings work in the mid 40's. Ran: protontricks 377160 --gui - Installed FAudio to fix missing audio and changed sound to ALSA to fix the crackling audio. - Ran winecfg to enable a virtual desktop with my primary monitor's native resolution. - INI-Tweak: Track down your Fallout.ini in "$STEAMInstall/compatdata/377160/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My\ Documents/My\ Games/Fallout4/Fallout4.ini", find the [Controls] section and add the line 'bBackgroundMouse=1' to fix the mouse issues. The mouse still needs to be clicked once in the game for it to be grabbed. - Steam launch options used: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% - Game crashes on occasion. If Alt+F4 doesn't bring up Proton's 'Terminate Process'-Dialogue and you kill it through your task manager, the VRAM will be left populated by the game data and you need to restart your system.
Constant 65-90FPS on (DX11) high settings without VSync. Needs the DLL override variable to be able to play online, otherwise the game will crash after loading the game world. Steam launch options used: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 WINEDLLOVERRIDES=winedbg.exe=d %command%
To get past the CAPCOM logo after lauching the game, it simply requires Windows Media Player 11 installed via: protontricks 304240 -q wmp11

Game runs okay most of the time.
Some stuttering while moving around and turning also on camera angle changes.
Proton Version: 5.0-7
To get into the menu after lauching the game, it simply requires Windows Media Player 11 installed via: protontricks 221040 -q wmp11
To successfully start a campaign, the game simply requires Windows Media Player 11 installed via: protontricks 222480 -q wmp11
During prerendered cutscenes audio crackling will occur. Use the following launch options to prevent this: PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=150 %command%
To get into the menu after lauching the game, it simply requires Windows Media Player 11 installed via: protontricks 287290 -q wmp11
Stutters on sudden appearance of enemies or splatter effects. Also some less severe stuttering when going around a corner. There is no ingame setting to fix this.
Game runs perfectly fine. (In both Linux and Proton)
Games saved running the Linux version don't show up when running the Windows version and vice versa. They're also incompatible between Linux/Windows versions.
Using the ingame benchmark on "1080p/Highest/No Vsync" these are my results:
- Linux Native: Min. 78.8 / Max. 128.7 / Avg. 105.8
- Proton 5.0-7: Min. 110.0 / Max. 173.6 / Avg. 139.4
Running the game through Proton might reduce stuttering/low performance in some areas after the initial shader caching is complete.
