Crackling in intro
Lighting issues
Crash in intro
For people with NVIDIA GPUs trying to run it using Lutris:
"DX12 not supported" error: Change VKD3D version to v2.8
Crash in intro (screen freezes, background sound still plays, before man with lute): Relaunch game, before reloading save limit FPS to 60 in options; if it still crashes limit FPS to 30.
There are still very distracting lighting problems, but it at least is playable.
Works fine using Lutris (need to fix shortcuts though if installing through Ubisoft Connect)
Slowdown when first loading in assets
Camera twitches around a bit when talking to NPCs
A bit glitchy with a few slowdowns, but otherwise playable.
Songs on launch menu sound different than in-game
Fullscreen does not center the display.

Antialiasing is wonky, shadows are jagged, but text on signs is so blurry they are unreadable
Fullscreen traps mouse within the screen, any change in graphical settings breaks monitor layout when using multiple screens
Game sometimes refused to detect an Xbox Controller properly, and would instead select a Huion tablet as input. Wizard doesn't work well, controller config needs to be completely redone every time the game decides to go back to the tablet for input.
Constant slowdown
Screenshots are broken. They are way too bright and flipped vertically.
It's playable... but performance is terrible and requires a lot of tweaking in-game to be remotely enjoyable.
Pick the Windows version instead by forcing Steam to use Proton. This solves every single problem I've listed here.
Works well enough on Proton 8.0-5. Crashes on Experimental.
Volume seems oddly low
Microstuttering
Launching the game with Experimental leads to absurd resource usage and crashes when loading the character creation screen. Switching to 8.0-5 fixed it, though the game does not run as well as it should given the hardware. Locking framerate to 60 and lowering AA fixed stuttering. So far surprisingly stable for an EA game on Linux.

Skips during startup
Refused to launch, despite EA app installing and launching OK. Deleting Proton prefix to force EA app reinstall did not work. Deleting the EAinstaller and game executables and then verifying game files did not work. Proton Experimental did not work. Neither did Proton 9.0.
Somehow switching to proton 8.0-5 made the game launch, though I'm not sure how stable it is or if it will hold up.
Otherwise the game plays ok, performance is a bit choppy with ray tracing, but playable.
Works ok as far as I can tell...
Audio didn't work on first launch; quitting and restarting the game fixed it.
gamemoderun %command%
Audio stutters from time to time; didn't happen in early game.
Stutters occasionally; didn't happen in early game.
SteamDeck=1 %command%
Unplayable framerate unless launch options are set.
Works out of the box on Proton Experimental, copying the folder from Windows partition and adding to Steam without installation works.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command%
Antialiasing is not the same as Windows
Requires WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command% as launch options to use mods.
gamemoderun %command%
No issues (at least none caused by the game).
