Lacking stability. Having to restart at the end of every match would be very frustrating. Framerate drops annoying too
Sometimes performance would randomly drop into the 15 FPS area for around a minute and lowering the settings does nothing
Crash at the end of every single match before loading into a new one
Works well
Occasional microstuttering
No serious problems, runs fine out of the box
Worked perfectly as a client. Can't say anything about hosting though
Unsurprisingly runs well
It's a fairly simple game (graphically). It's not much of a shock that it runs without issue
Loads forever. Never starts. No screen no nothing
Doesn't work at all
Once enabling Proton Experimental -bleedingedge it worked perfectly on my PC.
Did not work at all before that
Does not work at all on low end Laptop
Tried all the same tricks as my main gaming PC. Did not work at all. No clue why
If you're into this kind of thing
Framerate capped at 60? It definitely feels low. Can't use an overlay to say
It works fine. Kind of regret getting it though
Play with a controller to avoid mouse issues
Mouse cursor did not remain attatched game. Moving the mouse too far caused the game to tab out as you deselect it. When reopening it opens on another monitor
Can be fixed by playing with a gamepad
Mouse had no bounds and would go anywhere on all my monitors. Mouse cursor does not show up
Too many problems with the mouse. I would recommend playing with a controller. If you want to force it, you can get away with beating the game with a mouse and keyboard but I would not recommend since a controller works perfectly and the game is better suited to a controller anyway
gamemoderun %command% -dx12 -USEALLAVAILABLECORES
Awful 1% and 0.1% lows. Average of around 150 FPS with 1% lows in the 60s and 0.1% lows in the 10s
They happen sporadically. Can be very annoying but tolerable
The USEALLAVAILABLECORES argument is a must. Without it the lows are even worse (single digits)
Borked
Boots to black screen and then crashes. Even using Proton Experimental Bleeding Edge doesn't work
Runs perfectly
Although I have no clue how this got in my library. I saw it had zero ratings on ProtonDB so figured I'd give it a shot
It's... different
I immediately turned on Proton so I could get Reshade. Did not try Native. Seems to work perfectly in Proton with Reshade so no complaints from me
Not made for Linux
Not yet made for Linux. A shame given how good it is
Runs basically just as well, only requiring an argument be added to get it fully functional. Works flawlessly. Probably even better on AMD
_NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia %command%
If you do not use the arguments I did (That is, you don't let shaders compile beforehand) you will experience shader bugs during gameplay
Yes with caveats. You're going to be playing without sound (Major ouch given how nice sound is) No crashes though
Crackling and lack of diplomacy audio can be solved by downloading https://www.indirectsound.com/ and placing the files in your "Conquests" folder within Civilization 3.
The audio looping of music and in game sounds does not get fixed by this method
Must add PlayIntro=0 to skip the intro or the game simply will not open
Unless you add KeepRes=1 to your conquests.ini file it will be stuck in the top left corner of your screen and the mouse won't work
Settler area (the square) square doesn't show up no matter what I do. This is VERY annoying as it can be used to determine at a glance if it's a valid square.
Basically borked without tinkering or changing the game settings
You have to use KeepRes=1. On a 16" 2560x1600 screen this is ungodly small. Feel like I need glasses. Not a problem on my 27" monitor
Crackling, constantly repeating. Best to turn it off
Settler spawn border is absent. Not gaming breaking, just annoying
Unfortnite
Doesn't get beyond the launcher
Not working
No problems but I played solo
Can't say about audio problems discussed by another person. But it at least seems to run fine for me
Can be played with Keyboard Only
Mouse button input does nothing
Thanks to the fact that the mouse is not required even in the menus, you can play it perfectly on native. The mouse not working is an inconvenience though
Forcing Proton fixes the mouse issue. Although this is unnecessary as the mouse is not needed to play the game
Game runs well but sucks
Fullscreen doesn't work at resolutions higher than 1080. Have to manually set it to 1080p and it will fullscreen (but it will only run in 1080p)
Awful game that runs perfectly. Would not recommend playing at all. Garbage, just as buggy and janky and low quality as on windows
Some bugs but runs well enough
Game keeps reloading to menu infinitely sometimes (Keeps rolling the intro screens)
Can work past most of the bugs except for the gamepad. Gamepad is completely unfunctional unfortunately
