Glorious EggRoll build of Proton, custom launcher script for uPlay
Ezio occasionally gets stuck walking in a direction, or takes a few goes to acknowledge "E" (eagle vision) or "Shift" (pickup object)
GeForce 970 is five years newer than the game, but I can't run on max settings
One crash so far
Installed AC: Liberation, then used the installed UPlay/Ubisoft Connect to install other games. I then wrote a script to run UPlay directly so that play time on other games doesn't add to my Liberation play time! https://gist.github.com/IBBoard/99667decc3c04ffc138e8686cbb84730

The Ork Hulk mission will not start correctly without the MediaFramework fix. All missions up to that point were fine (but without cutscenes). I've beaten Abaddon for the last time three times now and it crashed each time.
Runs in Proton 4.x, crashes Proton 5.0 (terminate called after throwing an instance of 'dxvk::DxvkError') without "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1"
Sometimes it locks up right at the end of a match. But no progress is lost.
The game will play the music for a minute before starting. Then it just shows a black screen until you click, and then the menu appears.

The game will play the music for a minute before starting. Then it just shows a black screen until you click, and then the menu appears. Occasionally takes several attempts to connect in multiplayer (lost connection then game retries).
Works great… once you disable cinematics!
Sometimes it locks up during the post-match. But no progress is lost.
The "shows black screen until clicking" problem has become "only shows black screen" with Proton 5.13 but enabling Full Screen/disabling Cinematics fixes it. (This may need you to use an older Proton first)
Occasionally loses connection and automatically retries when setting up multiplayer but is fine in-game.
SDL_VIDEO_MINIMIZE_ON_FOCUS_LOSS=0
Edit .local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/216890/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/BloodBowlChaos/Config.xml and set <Fullscreen>1</Fullscreen>
and <Cinematics><Enable>0</Enable></Cinematics>
DO NOT alt-tab out of the window, otherwise it renders as a tiny 100x30px image on a black background. Interaction points are still in their correct places.
Previously had intermittent networking issues in multiplayer. Only played offline campaign when running it through GE. SDL config variable may not be necessary - it seemed to be in there when I re-installed the game.
Requires protontricks 214510 d3dx9_41
or else it crashes after the initial screen of companies and copyright
Refused to play any audio on one day. Fine the next. All other audio was fine from other SteamPlay games.
Requires protontricks 214510 d3dx9_41
or else it crashes after the initial screen of companies and copyright. Consistently crashes after the King of the Dead video - after it says "Checkpoint" but before it actually saves. Log says "./dlls/d3dcompiler_43/ppy.y 369: Invalid type indicator", protontricks 214510 d3dcompiler_43
doesn't fix it.
Used to run unchanged. Now requires "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1" and runs slowly.
Worked fine until a recent change. Now I'm only getting <15fps in games.
Works perfectly as long as you're not running Vulkan 1.2.153
Previous breakage was caused by https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/7368
Videos show the "test pattern" placeholder (even in Experimental), which means you lose lots of context for the story mode. protontricks 566440 wmp11
fixed the test pattern for some games but a) it needs a lot of symlinks manually moving because of permission denied
errors and b) it doesn't fix the issue.
"PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1" launch option is required, and performance was better with the native Linux version.
The native Linux version was generally smooth. Running through Proton only hits 60fps on menus and often drops below 30fps (especially explosions)
You need to manually enable SteamPlay or else it uses the old (buggy, unsupported) Linux build!
Given that the min spec is a GT 520, I expected more than 20fps max even on the lowest graphics settings
The startup can be slow (and look like it crashed) depending on which Proton you use. Standard Proton doesn't show videos but can be faster to get to the main menu, while Experimental and Proton-GE do better with videos but can have periods with just a black screen and the cursor.
Loads with the right Proton, but only gets 1fps and pixelated graphics
Tried with GE 8-17 and Proton 8.0-4 and it hung on the copyright for 30s then "crashed" with a dialog but started showing the video logo for the developer. It loaded with Proton 7.0-6 after saying that my very up-to-date graphics drivers (535.113.01) are out of date, but the keyboard wasn't working. When I started a mission, the video runs at 1fps and is a mix of pixelated like a 1990s game (especially around the hair) but also clearly well textures (faces).
