Really low framerate, mostly between 30-40fps with frequent dips at 20fps on the lowest settings
I've seen one crash during 40min of "play" time
Enabling FSR frame generation makes the screen black, the solution to that is to rename temporarily the .dll file:
- go to
/home/<user>/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/DOOMTheDarkAges/amd-ffx/
- rename the file to
amd_fidelityfx_vk_disable.dll
or something else - boot the game
- disable frame gen
- close the game
- rename the file back to
amd_fidelityfx_vk.dll
- --> the issue should be solved
Also changing the proton version too many times makes Denuvo locking the game for 24h 🤡
I haven't found a way to make it run properly
Don't run at all
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 gamemoderun %command%
I've tried a LOT of things, many proton versions, proton-GE and changed proton-experimental to bleeding edge but nothing works for me, I've also tried a lot of different arguments on each proton version, checked if my system was updated, make sure to use the last Nvidia driver...
I'm probably missing something because some people arrive at least in the menu
Forced borderless in games settings
You can play fullscreen but can't start the game in this mode, the game crash immediately, I had to go in the config file
/home/user/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/553850/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Arrowhead/Helldivers2/user_settings.config
to go back borderless.
Borderless have also an issue where there is this weird white border around the window
The majority of issues are from the game itself: servers capacity, no complete keybinds remapping, small instabilities. And these are likely to get fixed soon
Works OOTB but I advise to change the in-game engine to DX12, performing better than Vulkan
Works great no crash so far, only bad performance in end-game if there is a lot of entities on the sceen, DX12 made things a lot better, I discovered that after 100h of game time xD
Works well with proton GE, haven't tried with Steam proton but it should also work perfectly fine
The game doesn't run really well imo, but can maintain 30fps with default settings, the only option that seems to have an impact on performance is water reflection (disabled by default). You can set a cap of 30fps to smooth out the experience a bit.
