Haven't tried it on Windows but seems really decent
On MAX settings in Full HD I locked FPS on 90, sometimes it drops below but it had to be expected. Overall the experience is quite smooth without any visual glitches.
DOOM 3 BFG. Great experience, one weird issue
Some weird motion blur behaviour
For some reason, if I activate even minimum amount of Motion Blur in the game's menu, the gameplay began looks like a drunk LSD dream. If u turn the motion blur off everything is perfect
Works like a dream.
165FPS on FHD with RT, Ultra Nightmare settings. Much better than on Windows (Win11 - only 40FPS cuz not enough VRAM). HDR doesn't work but it's just a common problem of PROTON
On the title screen (when u startup the game) the background video doesn't play correctly sometimes. In some instances, it appears, sometimes - not Tried different versions of Proton and still.
The game is stable and the performance is comparable to Win11. Similarly to microsoft's OS, Dragon's Dogma on linux suffers from a torn framepacing if u didn't activate VSYNC or FPS LIMIT, then it's silky smooth. Definitely a good experience overall
Unfortunately, stable 60FPS are not possibe
drops to 50s and even mid 40s
The game struggles to maintain the performance mark. With VRR/GSYNC display it's not too noticable but the framerate is not stable, similar to PS5/XSX.
A bit of shadow flickering
Had to turn all the nvidia features off, otherwise 10FPS after the tutorial
Had to switch the proton version to 8.0.5 - otherwise the game wouldn't start at all. Also, for some reason It couldn't properly identify my Logitech F710 controller so I had to use Steam Input. With the highest settings (but witout NVIDIA technologies) and 150% resolution scale on FullHD I got around 80FPS in the open areas.
Perfectly fine, but without RT
When Ray Tracing is ON, the slowdowns are quite severe compared to the Win11.
The performance itself on DX12 is silky smooth, no visual glitches and no slowdown with rasterization
sudo kernelstub -a split_lock_detect=off
Without the option I listened before the FPS tanks in some areas, sometimes could be below 30 but after the customization everything is +- alright
You can play even as it is but in some scenarious the performance can be quite low, around 30FPS
Works as decent as on Windows and the port has the same issues
You can escape fullscreen, but then to reestablish it the only way is to reboot the game
Also, I would strongly reccomend to lock FPS somehow (unfortunately, the game doesn't natively support VSYNC and then you're getteng 500+ frames per second), otherwise you can actually get a few game logic bugs.
Native version has some artifacts (the lighthouse is all black on distance, sometimes characters skin looks weird with wrong lighting and shadows)
Maybe the problems of native version are related to NVIDIA drivers. Switching to the newest PROTON version solved all the issues
Turn off the steam overlay
FPS tanks on some locations below 30, but It may be the common issue with Windows
Steam overlay causes frequent crashes, so you have to turn it off
With STEAM OVERLAY turned off the game never crashes, but the performance sometimes is sub-optimal even on the lowest settings (lowering graphics or crowd doesnt really help) but as I said it could be a common issue with Windows
As good as on Windows.
The framerate is locked (60FPS) even on Windows, so it's silky smooth. Image is clean, online functionality is here. Minor distant shadows flickering likewise on Win11
Perfect, even on my infirm laptop with intel HD520
Tested on Win11 and Linux, on my laptop and PC, With PROTON the game is super stable and even performed a bit better.
Great performance.
I dind't do any additional installation steps, the Social Club installed by itself and ran the game. Not exactly sure if it's as good as on Windows 11 (haven't played in a while) but the maxed-out settings on FHD with DLSS on quality provided the average of 70FPS in the benchmark, I guess it's +- similar to a native game.
Perfect graphics and performance, online... Everything!
There are "?" instead of button allocation but everything works alright
The only small issue is listed above, on any Proton version (including 9.15). The game otherwive works flawlessly, performance on 1440p is usually above 150FPS, not lower than 75-80
A bit worse than on Windows but not that much
In the menu you can spot one element (between fight hub and World tour) which is not displayed correctly, but the issue is barely visible
The World tour mode is a bit problematic, some slowdows here and there BUT I had similar issues on WIN11. Other modes play fine.
A little 2D element in menu isn't displayed correctly plus some slowdows in World Tour. In general, the experience is comparable to the one on Windows 11
With default version of proton the game would freeze if you exit fullscreen mode by alt+tab
The game wouldn't run sometimes with default proton, so I changed it to 9.0.2 and everything was perfect
Just a few little annoying thing without tinkering, so I would still reccomend to change the proton version
Works as good as on Windows
There are random slowdowns on some arenas and during some fights, but I had them even on Win 11 with any settings. Overall the experience is decent
