Game does not launch with Proton 5.09
I also tried the Glorious Eggroll tweaks and got the same result
Gameplay is perfect with no noticeable performance loss. Make sure to disable razer chroma functionality otherwise your frame rate will tank (this is a problem on Windows as well). https://github.com/Riesi/CChromaEditor/releases/tag/EMPTY1.0
The only real problem is that the game won't close without me force quitting it via the terminal. There's a few bugs and minor lag but that seems to be on Windows too based on the reviews of this game
The single player gameplay is generally flawless with no discernible difference from Windows. The online features have trouble staying connected and menus don't work that well with a mouse.
The menu is kinda messed up without a controller. Performance-wise, this game is flawless on proton 4.2-9
Almost Perfect
The main menu background animation was slower than normal, but the rest of the game was perfectly playable.
The cutscenes don't work properly, and you have to manually skip them or else the level will not start. Some minor frame rate stutters happened as well
Game runs pretty well after disabling esync and turning on feral game mode. There's still occasional and annoying stuttering even after tweaks
Game gets black screen and freezes
I tried the various tweaks including swapping out StrangeBrigade.exe with StrangeBrigade_Vulkan.exe, changing launching parameters (+r_renderapi 1 -nofriendsui -udp -skipdrivercheck), and winetricks. They all get the same black screen and frozen game
I had to turn off my Nvidia GPU and run this game from Intel integrated graphics. Having my graphics card on gave a completely black screen. This meant 900p, low settings, and 30fps. That being said, other than the launcher, the game didn't have any significant bugs and was stable.
The launcher was completely black with both Intel and Nvidia graphics. Others have mentioned good fixes for this.
I recommend adding this launch setting to get rid of the unskippable videos before the title screen: +com_skipIntroVideo 1
The game engine is not great, even on Windows. For some reason, the graphics settings on Ultra gave me better performance than on Medium. Feral Game Mode helps with stuttering too.
