Unable to get passed the screen that says "This is a seated VR experience". There's a circle with the right hand side shaded and the word "Confirm" next to it, which probably means that I'm supposed to press something to continue, but I've tried every button and nothing works. I can not see my hands (on Valve Index + Valve Index Controllers)
I was going to rate this game Platinum as it used to work perfectly out of the box pre-beyond (version 2.0), but I thought I'd wait for VR and include that in my review.
Unfortunately, when Beyond arrived, it made the game unplayable. From what I've read here though, it would seem that this is a Vulkan driver issue and is probably only going to be temporary.
As it ran in ultra-slow motion while loading and then crashed before I could get into the game itself, I was not able to change the settings in game, but I was able to edit them via ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/No Man's Sky/Binaries/SETTINGS/TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML
I replaced all entries of High with Low, set MaxframeRate to 30, set VsyncEx to Off, set fullscreen to false and borderless to True.
Pancake version works fine again now.
As for VR, trying to load the VR version plays the music in the headset but opens the game on the monitor. VR view just shows the loading screen. I have the Valve Index.
I'll probably end up experimenting with turning various settings back up, and will keep trying with VR on every update and will report back if anything improves.
TL;DR: Platinum before Beyond, Silver now (for now)
