Wine C++ runtime library error on game launch
When I try to open the game I get a pop up window reporting the following error:
¨Assertion failed!
Program: {my-home-path}.steam\debian-installation\steamapps\common\Deep Rock Galactic\FSD\Binaries\Win64\FSD-Win64-Shipping.exe File: ../src-wine/dlls/winegstreamer/media_source.c Line:835 Expression: "type_count < ARRAY_SIZE(stream_types)""
The game worked fine before last night, if the game uses proton experimental by default it may have been some changes in the past 24 hours.
With proton version 6.3-4 the game runs and lets me log into the lobby area, but then freeze when I load into a map, both solo and with other players
With proton 5.13-6 the games loads into map normally but I noticed that some textures couldn't load correctly, like some walls appeared only when I walked against them
Voice chat is the only bummer but game is intuitive a most players can understand cues without talking, then you can still use text chat
Some low fps in very intense fights with a lot of effects
In game voice chat doesn't seem to work
Some menu audio kept playing during training
EAC Kick after joining a match
Game runs fine, EAC is the only problem
Audio issue can be solved with safe mode
It can be solved by launching the game with safe mode (via steam)
Unable to launch the game
Steam says "Updating executable" for a short while and then exits
Despite followint the same process that is used for Squad, I was able to run the game without EAC error, but once I connect to a server I get kicked out instantly due to EAC Auth error
Following Squad installation instructions gets you to the point where you don't get an EAC error at startup, but still get you kicked out of any server. As mentioned in a previous report I also think it's a matter of finding the right values to set in EAC metadata file as anything else just works the same
Sometimes alt-tab made the game freeze
Occasionally and at random moment the game freezes and the audio goes in a loop forcing me to hard reset my pc. This is preventing me to complete the game at hardest difficulty since the saves are limited so I find myself repeating full sections of the game not because my character dies, but rather because the game crashes
This and RE3 seem to have the same kind of issues for me, so are probably related to the game engine
Sometimes while playing the whole system froze requiring a hard reset
Tried also playing via steam link on my tv and once the controller disconnected from the session and I had to restart the game to make it work, there was some input lag but that I think was due to the streaming over LAN
Random whole system hard freeze which I think I solved by using DX11
If having freezing issues try setting the game to DX11 by going to your steam library, selecting the game then properties>betas and select dx_11-non-rt in the dropdown menu, let it update and finally in game go to graphic options and set the APIs to DirectX 11. You should be able to change the option by editing the re_config.ini file in the steamapps/common/RE3 as well if for some reason the game won't start
The player would have to restart the game after every map load and most servers have a queue
A lot of lag once the VRAM got full
It seems that the game in unable to unload VRAM between matches or a change in the video settings so at some point it starts stuttering like hell
EAC worked fine after setting .steam/debian-installation/steamapps/compatdata/393380/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Temp folder to readonly
If there were a way to flush the vram manually within the game it may help to circumvent this issue, but I don't know if it is possible
Only on certain maps I had very poor fps
Certain maps have poor fps but I think it's due to game optimization and hardware
Had to turn settings to minimum compared to the past, AA and AO above LOW seem to break the framerate for me. For anything else the game works as expected
Still hoping OWI enables this game to work with proton just like Squad
Works out of the box. Have patience with potential assets loading stutter on first playthrough which disappears on subsequent reruns
At every new area the game had stutters, possibly for loading assets. Though the second time passing on the same area there were none
