You'll need to add a few things to the official layout as you might enable couch co-op by accident when trying to type in the chat. It helps to set a back button as enter + show keyboard (yes, in the same button), which will allow you to type your messages quicker. But also, set a button for Esc and a trackpad for mouse movement + LMB. If you enable couch co-op by accident, you'll have to open the menu with Esc and kick the extra player through there with the mouse. I also found that setting "select" to one of the back buttons helps.
Flawless multiplayer experience.
Activated couch co-op by accident more than a few times when using the on-screen keyboard to try and type messages. Yeah, it works.
I have a category in my library called "made for the Deck." I put this in there before I even played it, but was not disappointed once I got to it. This is one of those games that truly feels like it was made to be played on the Deck specifically.

Works both with and without Proton on my machine. Perfomance is the same as on my Windows 10 counterpart IE - Great.
Works same way as it does on Windows - Great
Works same way as it does on Windows - Great
Recommend to anyone who loves silly fun with friends.

Played on a mobile wifi and still had absolutly no problems
installed and run no changed at all.

protontricks 394510 xact xact_x64
Protontricks note above will fix some sounds not playing/having audio spikes; after which it works just about perfectly.

Played a few rounds with 1 friend local (couch-coop) + other helldivers from across the globe.
Had to disable Steam Input API for this game to get more than 1 controller to work correctly.
Install and play. Tested online + couch-coop at the same time, all good.
Stable 60 FPS on a big TV.

Works perfect out of the box
Played a few matches with other people online. There's still 400+ divers protecting democracy!
Install and play.

Seems perfectly playable. May need to join friends' games instead of vice-versa.
Friends can't join my game, even when lobby is set to "Public."

It was crashing on startup, then I ran in in the "32-bit safe mode". It seems fine now.

i did play because it didn't work with my controller and my wrist issues makes mouse and keyboard painful.
games is unable to read my ds5 gamepad

the frame rate will decreases after about halt hour of gameplay
Excellent Controller Suppost.Want a PlayStation icon? Using a DS4 controller is recommended to disable Steam Controller support

Works with proton (9) and ge proton. Linux is Nobara 39.
I can't adjust the resolution and display mode at the same time in the settings, I need to set it to ‘full screen’ and then adjust the resolution, otherwise the game flashes back. Otherwise the game flickers. But otherwise everything works fine.

I have not played a lot of multiplayer but so far I haven't seen any bugs
The game is great and runs great. contols might take a bit to get used to but otherwise very great.
No major issues to report.

It just werks. And that's a good sign.
The game works like it works on windows technically OOTB. There's no need to tinker around the game because as soon as you start it you'd be able to play with your friends and other people online. Tested it for like 1 to 2 hrs~ but everything ran just fine.
The original incursion of spreading democracy in the name of Super Earth, runs perfectly out of the box. A must buy for Deck owners

For Democracy! Same performance as windows. Multiplayer perfect too.
Played for ~5 hours on Linux. Same performance as windows. Multiplayer perfect.

Helldivers runs perfect, i did not have any problem playing this offline and online
While playing, I would get an occassional bungie/rubberbanding effect. Did not happen on this same hardware running windows.
Runs Perfectly
It plays as if it was running on Windows
Using both Xbox 360 and DS4 Controllers and it worked fine without any problems
Install and play, no tinkering needed. It runs as if it was installed on Windows, even better it is more stable.
Works like a charm.
No issues while playing mp.
No tinkering needed, just hit play and enjoy the game.
It's Helldivers! Just set proton compatibility to 6.3-8 to launch it via steam. Shadows to low on my machine. Runs smooth
Proton 6.3-8
Dying with friends is excellent
The connection issues I had were on par with the failure rate I had on a PC.
Coming from a Helldivers Sony Vita player, this is the optimal experience. Perfect 60fps, more stable, voice chat works.
No tinkering needed. Install and go (native).
Works out of the box without thinkering
Unbearable broken audio problem. Fixed by choosing "Launch 32-bit in Safe Mode"
No problems playing as long as you choose "Launch 32-bit in Safe Mode".
A single crash after about 2 hours of play, probably was a fluke.
Joined game without any issues, great experience overall.
Works out of the box, consistent 60fps.
Game crashes on occasion but that doesn't make the game unplayable. I do recommend you let a Windows buddy be lobby leader so you can easilly rejoin after a crash loosing hardly any progress.
Some SFX from guns sounds like it is coming from a distant cave. Probably not processing some FX properly.
If you can play using the NixOS stable channel, I recommend doing so, but I needed to use the unstable channel in order to even start the game. On unstable I was able to run the game, but it was using LLVMpipe as the default graphics option, putting all the burden on my CPU's integrated graphics and crippling performance. With no in-game option to solve this, I put the following into /etc/nixos/configuration.nix as a workaround:
(steam.override { extraProfile = '' unset VK_ICD_FILENAMES export VK_ICD_FILENAMES=${config.hardware.nvidia.package}/share/vulkan/icd.d/nvidia_icd.json:${config.hardware.nvidia.package.lib32}/share/vulkan/icd.d/nvidia_icd32.json ''; })
Those are two single quotes, not double quotes. This can be dumped in with all of your nixpkgs under environment.systemPackages = with pkgs; [ This forces nvidia graphics. After that, for whatever reason, the 32bit version of the game was impossible to launch. Still totally playable, even with sound errors.
Essential SFX and music sound fine, but some sfx sound like they are picked up on someones mic and played through discord.
If you have the option, avoid integrated graphics. Game should be perfect in that case, running 32bit of course. Otherwise: suffer. ... I didn't use this, but for non-Nvidia GPUs with the same problem you might find this useful: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/126435
