Can't confirm if it's a quirk of a game, or an issue specific to Linux
Steam input had to be enabled for DualShock 4 and Switch Pro Controller support
Cinematics (when they work that is) seem to crash the game
This game heavily relies on cinematics, and they either don't show up, or crash the game.
Game minimizes when focusing on other windows, could be intentional
May use more VRAM then on Windows, making performance worse on GPUs with lower memory.
Using Proton straight from Steam did not work, Proton-GE had to be used.
It was necessary to tick Staging -> Hide Wine version from applications in winecfg
Some recent EA App update broke multiplayer with friends. It was necessary to tick Staging -> Hide Wine version from applications in winecfg.
Single Player and Online without friends works well out of the box.
Works well, but not as intended
Since it's a desktop pet app, it can't really work as intended on linux, the background would just be black. Perhaps something could be done on DE side?
The game works well as is, but the whole point of it (being a desktop pet) can't be done properly.
The way intro/logo screen is implemented is weird, it renders it as a single frame (based on freeze of MangoHUD) before actual menu. This behaviour could exist on Windows too, but cannot confirm. Be patient, don't think it's frozen yet.
After clicking "Play" in steam, game seems to load for a couple of seconds, after which nothing happens.
Maybe could be fixed with more thinkering
Black artifacts and stuttering when using AMD FSR.
If you have performance issues, I'd recommend you adjusting settings instead of enabling AMD FSR.
Black screen with audio
Launching game (English version) you'll get black screen. The game itself is active, and you'll hear the menu music, but won't see anything.
Game seems to work after either proton update, or replacing Nvidia GPU for an AMD one (since last report, where game would load fine, but display black screen).
