controls stopped working one day but worked again after reinstalling

It worked perfectly fine OOTB. Especially after the first big patch. Dev added background options since they couldn't get transparent background to work on linux. Also, a lot of the issues I've seen commented have been fixed.
Works well, but not as intended
Since it's a desktop pet app, it can't really work as intended on linux, the background would just be black. Perhaps something could be done on DE side?
The game works well as is, but the whole point of it (being a desktop pet) can't be done properly.

You can interact with Her and it's fun, but the background is black and can't interact with the desktop.
